Arsene Wenger says Jack Wilshere’s latest operation has been a success and the midfielder will look to make a return in time for the busy Christmas schedule.
Despite partaking in pre-season friendlies, the England international hasn’t featured this season after a training ground collision in August saw him suffer a hairline fracture to his left fibula.
Arsenal’s medical team had initially hoped the midfielder’s problem would heal without surgery only for the 23-year-old to suffer a setback when he was on the cusp of a return.
He’s missed a fair bit of football has our Jack leading Mikel Arteta to promise earlier this month that he’d do his best to keep his teammate in good spirits.
“He has an enormous talent and support from every department of the club, and from the players because we feel sorry for him,” said the club captain.
“He has an amazing career ahead of him. We are responsible for putting that into his head every day and to not allow him to fall down because, at some stage, that is the danger; that he does not believe in himself or his body and he needs to trust himself.
“Jack unfortunately has had a lot of difficult moments, but he has shown a lot of character and enthusiasm. He needs to use it to prove he can get back.”
Get well soon Jack.
When was the last time a player came back in the same timeline Wenger predicted?
Last season, Giroud came back ahead of schedule and went on a big scoring run……
Exactly!! Debuchy and Giroud came back 2 weeks before the predicted timeline! What the fuck!

almost 100,000 signatories, just over a 1,000 to go. Now is the time if you haven’t already signed.
Those two did not have anywhere near the injury history that Wilshere has had. He continually has setbacks of all kinds in his return whether it’s the same injury having a setback or something else he picks up because he is compensating. Hopefully this is an isolated one that once it heals he’ll be good to go once he gains fitness, but I would lean towards after the hectic period (though would be great to have him back before it).
wilshere will shine
get well soon jack we miss ya
Hate to say it but Christmas of which year?
2084 after we’ve cryogenically frozen him and used the tech to rebuild his body.
Really can’t have been easy for him all these years, I don’t remember the last full season he had. He’s a bloody talented footballer whose progress has really been hampered by these frustrating injuries.
Hope this is the last of them and that he really kicks on and shows the world what he can do once he’s back.
Got to stay positive regarding Jack, the alternative is too bad to think about! We need what he can bring to the team COYG
Can’t imagine how frustrated he must be. The guy loves the club as much as we do, and all he wants to do is play football. He’s fucking good at it too. Get well soon Jack!
Can’t help wondering if we should add Diaby to Arsenal’s staff as he could provide the sort of positivity an injured player could benefit from being surrounded by when they are faced with injuries. Particularly in cases like Jack who appear to be faced with bad luck and setbacks.
I see what you did there. Motivate them to heal faster or they end up being released.
Yes win-win scenario for the club whichever effect he would have on injured players.
a lack of a happy ending for Diaby probably not the best choice for the job imo
So you want us to buy Diaby from Marseille.
How much do you think he’ll cost?
£1000 for his signature followed by £0.5 million for the air ambulance to bring him back to the UK
He is perpetually getting injured.I hope he is not another Diaby. Otherwise a lot of
time will be wasted when Arsenal could have got another md .
Love u Jack
Wenger bring in another MF he has Ramsey the worst MF in the Prem. i am amazed that Wenger said he could not find any player over the transfer window to improve our squad i would say 80% of players that moved this year would improve our squad and our first team 11.
What the fuck?
Well your name is “dreamer” so you must have typed that comment in your sleep right?
Ramsey the worst MF in the prem, am I missing something here………?
Are you a spurs fan?
Language, Timothy
Glad to hear that you thought Ramsey was the worst midfielder in the Premier League when he smashed in a 30-yard volley against Galatasaray or an arrow into the top corner on the pull against Norwich. I agree though, statistics are misleading. QPR was way better than Chelsea last season.
Just in time to be LANS in the January transfer window.
There’s many a true word spoken in jest.
Although, given Wenger’s incredible response to the last transfer window, I’ve pretty much given up on anything being done in January. If it is it will only be through panic, because the fourth placed cup is under threat.
We could see him soon in our midfield. Get well soon Jack!
We’ve been denied pairing the two best central midfielders in British football for too. damn. long. Wilshere and Ramsey will be world beaters! I believe!
Get well soon Jack!
Great job by Captain Lego Hair in keeping his spirit up. That’s what a good captain does, especially when his impact on the field is waning.
Wilshere is starting to exploit the club with all these injuries and still taking a full wage. We should dock his pay and give it to the travelling Syrians
So if you had an accident that prevented you from going to work, for a sustained period of time, you’d be happy for your employer to dock your wages?
Just reading the latest quotes from Jose (the lovable dapper little chap)
It appears that he is near to cracking up, and all Wenger did was not to shake his hand.
Jose will be gone soon (again)
Moronho is so stupid that zombies would refuse his brains.
Mourinho has just gone “full Benitez”. You never go full Benitez.
Amen.
