I can only assume he wants to make 100% sure Coq is fit for the Leicester game and that this is as good a game as any to try and give the Ox a chance to play his way back into form. Otherwise leaving out Coq and Campbell strikes me as decidedly odd in a game which certainly won’t be a stroll in the park.
I honestly think Le Coq isnt %100 fit. Theres no other reason for not starting him. If u look at the training pictures he still had the knee heavily strapped. As above we def need him for the Leicester game.

I’m afraid wenger has never accepted that his decisions at times create a very hostile atmosphere (think emerates when he stubbornly refuses to spend) jack said when we bought Ozil they were all buzzing at the training ground and if memory is right went on unbeaten run for a while. Ian Wright says same about bergkamp and we won the league soon after. It’s so frustrating that a man as clever as wenger seems to have these obvious blind spots. Kim kalstrom would be wonderful example of terrible management.

Joel Campbell very hard done by, The Ox getting a start ahead of him sends out a message that form doesn’t matter, but the players the manager likes will always start anyway
Joel was poor last game to be honest. And the Ox didn’t even play. hes probably looking for more directness which the Ox gives more over joel
To be completely honest Campbell’s done fine, but really hasn’t done much to make me go “he HAS to start the next game” in the way Coquelin, Monreal and Bellerin did this time last year. Campbell’s proven to be a useful squad player, but the Ox (who’s looked to be getting back to his old self in his last couple appearances) is definitely the better option for us going forward. We’ve criticised Wenger for sticking with the same dysfunctional line up for the past few weeks, but at least this is one risk he has taken to change things up.
