Arsene Wenger has confirmed reports that Tomas Rosicky picked up an injury on his first team return at the weekend, but denied those suggesting Jack Wilshere had suffered a setback in his own recovery.
The Czech midfielder played the final 19 minutes of Arsenal’s 2-1 FA Cup win over Burnley – his first at the Emirates since May – but returned to the dressing room at full-time nursing a thigh problem.
Giving a squad fitness update ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Southampton the boss revealed: “Everyone who played is available. The only problem is Rosicky picked up an injury.”
He continued: “It’s a thigh problem [for Rosicky]. How deep is the problem we don’t know. He has a scan today. We’ll know a lot more about it tonight.”
Wenger also explained that he’s assured England manager, Roy Hodgson, that Jack Wilshere’s recovery is still going to plan.
“That’s the wrong information,” retorted the boss when quizzed on whether the 23-year-old had suffered another setback.
“He’s looking quite good. Overall, I had a short chat with Roy Hodgson about him and assured him he’s doing well.
“I’m a bit cautious [to put a timescale on his return], I would say four weeks.”
Fuck!
Given that no-one knows the extent of Rosicky’s thigh injury (he hasn’t had a scan yet), methinks your “Fuck” is a tad premature. This also applies to Wilshere who, according to The Guardian on Friday, was looking to return in six to seven weeks instead of four – in which case the word we should be seeking is the opposite of “Fuck” whatever that is.
unfuck
Fuck yeah!
That’ll do nicely.
Can you use that in a sentence?
Kcufffff!
he got injured the moment he touched iwobi’s hands ….
Our players should probably stop trolling Spurs. Wilshere, Rosicky, Walcott…..
If 4 weeks is Arsene being cautious about Wilshere, then I am hopeful that he will be ready before the end of March. Arsene traditionally paints the worst possible picture.
Better news re Wilshire phew
Would love to see him back on the pitch, at some point this season.
Hopefully the Rosicky injury isn’t too bad (crossing everything possible). I half expect Wilshire to have a run of games before the season ends.
Give his track record, a thigh injury for Rosicky could potentially mean he’s already played his last game for us… Such a frustrating signing, could have been so much more if not for all those injuries.
Bad news for Mozart, was so excited for him to come back :(. Come on Jack get back for the run in please lad, with almost every one fit fills me with excitement going to watch this team play. COYG!
So have some of the doubters changed their minds and don’t want Jack sold ?
He will be back raring to go and I’m sure will become another Arsenal legend.
Cut out the fags though Jack.
Oh, yeah, i want him to be sold… Has never proven anything with Arsenal…
JACKY FUCKING WILSHEREEEEEEEEEEE
Get well soon Jacky Boy and TR7
Arsenal injuries are so funny I forgot to laugh…
Is there something wrong with my monile/browser or are there a lot more ads on this site than previously?
*mobile
We upgraded the mobile theme, and it seems to be showing 2 of each ad. Looking into it, but can’t quite figure out what it is. Sorry for the inconvenience. We’ll get it sorted soon, hopefully
Great, thank you
If our current squad retains its health and we get Welbeck and Carzola back within a few weeks to a month I can’t see how there will be room in the squad for Wilshere or Rosicky. As much as both players have to offer there are really just 3-4 spots on the bench for attacking players as Wenger will always carry a backup goalie, a backup central defender and a backup outside defender at a minimum. As of now we have Flamini, Elneny, Iwobi, Walcott, Chamberlin, Arteta and Chambers as subs (assuming the starting midfield group of Ramsey, Coquelin, Sanchez,… Read more »
Been pointing this out for awhile, especially with regards to new players. We simply have too many.
Add Iwobi who looks better than Walcott or the Ox, and possibly better than Campbell too. (you’ve come a long way Campbell)
Zelalem? The Jeff?
