Koscielny back for Barcelona clash

Laurent Koscielny is back in the squad for tomorrow night’s Champions League clash against Barcelona.

The French international has missed the last four games with a calf injury, but has been passed fit for the game against the Spanish champions at the Camp Nou.

His inclusion comes at the expense of Calum Chambers who drops out of the squad, with Hector Bellerin set for his first start since the 2-2 draw with Sp*rs at White Hart Lane on March 5th.

There don’t appear to be any other injury worries for Arsene Wenger to contend with, it just remains to be seen what kind of a team he’ll pick with an early Saturday morning Premier League encounter with Everton looming also.

The manager has backed his team to give it a go tomorrow night, saying, “We have gone through a disappointing spell and it is important to remain calm and strong.

“We have won everywhere in Europe, but not here yet. The players are united to give a strong performance.”

We’re saying nothing, but we’re here to help in any way we can as long as that includes the consumption of amazing ham.

Remember when this was the game that Santi and Jack were aiming to be back for :'(

Jimdinho

Such a shame we can win everywhere except the Emirates

Bob Davis

Welcome back Koscielny. One of the best defenders in the league.

Heroldg

Play him along £200m atleast it would make some blocks.

spinner

Not a bad idea – just stack the £200m in bundles of cash in front of the goal line. Winner!

Knowing our recent CL history, I’m half expecting a gloriously tragic 1-0 win. At this stage, would just be happy to see the lads put up a good fight and get a result that doesn’t take our confidence level any further into our overdraft. Enjoy the trip Blogs!

Why not

We have become quite the masters of glorious failures in the champions league. I expect 0-1 or even worse a 1-2.

TexasGooner6

no kidding. was just thinking that.

Greg

More on ham for the next 28 hours please

Ozil's eyes

All the best for tomorrow’s game gunners.

Dale Cooper

I came here for the sandwich.

He is Well Beck Now!

Kos inclusion bodes well specially for Everton game. Gabriel has been error prone which is strange really as he had a good first season and with Per coming close to retirement age we may need to go transfer market looking for another centre half.

George

If he’s not 100% I’d rather not risk him. And why is Chambers missing out? We’re not exactly stacked with defensive subs.

Regardless, good news that Koscielny is there or thereabouts.

Heroldg

I say risk him, what have we left to chase anyway? I’m sick of this players.

Toure motors

That’s a grand looking rasher sandwich. Agree with comments that he shouldn’t be risked. This game is more of a dead duck than Orville has been since Keith passed away

drogheda gunner

Good to hear kos is back he is a class act.Gabriel has been poor but I think a run of games next season beside kos Will improve him ,he has speed and good instincts but he just seems to get to close at wrong times .

TexasGooner6

For all those bashing Gabriel, just remember that Kos was not that great his first year with the squad. He improved. Gab has all the physical tools and temperament to be real good. He will get stronger over the next couple of years and already had height and speed. I would play Per and Kos but don’t lose faith in Gab yet.
