Özil sign the damn thing!!!
No way! He’s already nicking a living as it is. 😉
Just realised, Pogba cost over twice as much as Özil. Twice as much! And Pogba doesn’t have the benefit of, you know, being Mesut Özil.
Just give him the 250k/week.
Ozil’s shadow is a better footballer than Pogba.
Everyone is entitled to his opinion, but I think a 7 for The Ox is a bit stingy. At least 2 key passes and a goal have to count for something. His dribbling and passing was better than Walcott’s if I am not mistaken.
Fuck Michael Owen!
Who?
Michael Owen is right. Ozil should score against top sides…. Banging in goals against mid table opposition like Chelsea and United isn’t good enough!
Netsut Goalzil!
*Göalzil!
Arse. Is that a thing here?
Well I ain’t complaining. COYG!
I was thinking Ozil was looking a bit leggy at 4 nil up and could of been subbed. Thats why I’m not a football manager and just a painter and decorator. I’ll knock you up a nice kitchen, but I’m terrible at winning Champions league matches.
Don’t torture yourself about it, you’ll win at least as many Champions League matches this year as Jose Mourinho.
I was trying to upvote.
Somehow it downvoted.sorry
Can’t believe Sanchez isn’t at least 9 he was unreal. That chip tho!
I could practically hear him thinking “Pick that one out, bitches!”
The first touch for his first goal…I could watch that for hours.
@arseblog
Hey! whats the most liked comment ever in the entire history of Arseblog News?
No idea! But I guarantee it won’t be this one.
Ozil’s on fire, your defence is terrified!
10/10 – Arsenal not taking any opposition lightly after Zagreb and Olympiakos last season
Funk it 6-0 deserves tens all round!
Comment:Great arsenal fc, great!
Shit spurs fc, shit!!!
We at arsenal will always be great but spurs will forever be shitty shit.
I will give Ozil a perfect 10
Amazing performance. Unfortunately the scoreline means that Ospina’s performance won’t get as much attention as it would have. Absolutely outstanding – he’d be a very capable number 1 at pretty much every Premier League club.
Man Schitty sure could have used him today.
See? It wasn’t Gardiola. It was barcelona.
Always said I’d respect Guardiola more if he worked his way up the clubs. And some will respond with Barcelona B! Sure, that was a small club, no?
Silky ozil nicking a living
Pleased to see The Ox play well tonight. Would love to see him turn it around and get his confidence back. Worth pointing out that he is well on his way to his most prolific season in an Arsenal shirt too – 3 goals in 10 games now this season. He should take heart from that.
Sanchez must be cranky that Ozil grabbed the two late goals he was planning to poach. Wonder if Wenger might start putting Perez in for Iwobi. At this stage, Perez may be a bit more of the finished article. Reads the game well and has a wand of a left foot.
The whole thing just feels different this year.
Why isn’t ozil getting a elven? I make mistakes at work everyday. Tonight I witnessed perfection.
Gawd but their goalkeeper was awful. Not to take away from our performance but he was like a bag of logs with low self-esteem.
I thought he had a good game. It was good for Arsenal at the very least.
THIS is what we should be doing to weaker teams. Totally professional performance. As relaxed as I’ve ever been watching this team.
Huh I almost forgot about the Ox. Does the through ball to Alexis count as an assist, considering how much he dribbled afterwards? Regardless t’was a lovely ball, plus he had another couple of nice passes that set up assists and a classic scavenger’s goal, so not a bad evening at all. When he missed the simple square to Theo at the beginning of the first half I thought “classic almost-good Oxie” but by the end of it it felt like this might be the game where things started taking off for him finally. Please? It’s about bloody time.
Ox definitely had an encouraging game. I loved the fact that he didnt drop in terms of attitude even though there were a couple of really bad passes from him(notably the long ball that almmost reached the goalkeeper directly). I think the scrutiny that comes with being being English or maybe even European from a top league has become a curse for confidence for attacking players. Latin American strikers seem to not be afraid of failure and have hat desire and stay switched on for the entirely of the game. Alexis plays quite a few misplaced passes but never gives… Read more »
I dont think coquelin missed a tackle tonight. What a class player he has become.
And I lost count of how many times he popped up in the right place to put pressure on the man with the ball or fill a hole. Stats will never show that.
I thought so too, Coq was close to perfection
!
I particularly like the way Lucas bustled players off the ball, not fouling them but moving them around.
Two lovely assists, I think on a night of stories this is the one I wanted to see the most, as much as I was chuffed for The Ox’s overall game tonight and Walcott’s continuing form and Özil continuing his birthday celebrations . . . it was a genuine number 9 I wanted to have look at.
Very nice buy, Monsieur Wenger, very nice indeed.
Wenger should seriously consider using Perez instead of Iwobi. I think he’s a bit more experience, has better vision and a wonderful left foot. Iwobi is good, but not the finished article yet.
I forgot to mention . . . Lucas, he’s got some pace as well.
I do think he will fit in very nicely in the Premiership and may even push for a start by the middle of the season.
Ospina can become our number one goalie by next season with an ageing Cech.
Great win. Fine finishes all round. I was howling at the Tv for ozil to be subbed at 3-0 up for no reason other than to save his legs. The fuck would I know.
Coq had a fuckin stormer, I truely love Xhaka and think he’s going to be immense for us but you can’t substitute that clean tackling/interception job coq does for us.
He just breaks things up so consistently, the ball across the box he cut out in the first half was massive. If he isn’t there who’s to say it isn’t 1-1 and a completely different game.
I think Ozil should look at the way his season is going and sign da ting. When he came to us he was a world-renowned attacking midfielder. After working under Wenger for a couple of years he’s about to become a world-renowned attacking midfielder and feared striker.
If they take the time to listen to him Wenger can improve any player on earth.
I can truly understand why teams park the bus against us. Ox and Ozil completely transformed in the second half…and some of Ozil’s touchs. wow. Simply majestic. I thought the reappearance of Coqneny made us incredibly solid in the 2nd half.. I love Santi but he can be a bit lightweight at times and he and Xhaxa are not the quickest. Just look at the bench and who was missing from the squad or injured..Not to mention some of the other talented youngsters and future investment. Give Ozil and Sanchez the monies and keep this squad together for the next… Read more »
Go wan outta that with your iffy moments. First professional hatrick gets a 10!
Mustafi should always have a +1 added after his performance tally score. That guy is a masterclass – enthusiasm that he generates even standing at defense is probably not being noticed by a lot of the fans here. Always calm and composed and gives his all to recover from a mistake, if any at all. Ospina could always be our number 1. Been saying that since 2014. That one bad Champs League performance, and some Gooners still give him stick for that. He always commits to the ball and doesn’t stand back to allow an easy shot.
Mustafi has been such a solid addition and worth the cost in my opinion. He is not flashy, but solid and steady. Does a great job reading the play and being in the right position, solid in the air, solid tackler and very good in one v one situations. Still think back to how Koscielny and he man handled Costa in the Chelsea match.
Was nice to see Ox, Elneny and Perez get some good minutes, going to need all three at some point and need to keep them sharp and hungry.
I saw someone quote someone else about Mustafi, very apt:
He is one of those guys you put into your defense and forget about for the next 10 years.
Early days, but he does seem “unremarkably” good. He’s just there, like he was never not there.
Ox played a brilliant pass to Alexis for the first goal too. I hope he gets chances to play consecutive games, I want him to show more of this confident, end product-y Ox.
I agree…be interesting to see if he gets a start against Middlesboro. Hard to drop Alexis, Theo, Cazorla or Iwobi tho. Ozil will play obviously
Good to see both Elneny and Lucas get some useful minutes, and both should start and play the full match against Reading. Have to play Elneny more in the next two months, as he’ll be off to the Africa Cup of Nations in the new year.
Not just Özil…. Coq was amazing too !!!
Great performance from our front 4 .. but Le Coq.. dear oh dear.. he was a beast.. completely understand arsene starting him.. we play much better with him on the pitch..
Fun fact: coquelin earns 14k/ week… I’ll just leave it there?
Lol he doesn’t earn 14k a week. That was probably his wages when he broke into the first team initially around 2011. You probably read an old article mentioning his wages. It would be unrealistic to even believe anything of the sort.
Alexis Sanchez just keeps getting better and better. What a joy to watch him play. He makes football so beautiful
WHO THE F#@K went out and spent 34m on this Mustafi panic buy, 35m on Granit and 17m on Lucas Perez?
Clearly cluesless. Should have bought David Luiz or Stones. Panic buying Mustafi and waiting so long to sign him, should have got someone-else instead.
Who the hell would retain Francis Coquelin, promote Bellerin and play an unknown youth player in Iwobi? Clearly clueless.
Not to mention retain Theo Walcott, insist on playing the Ox.
The man has simply lost it.
Disgrace.
WENGER OUT!:D
Gözilla.
Can we get Lucas to play more often up front and move Alexis left? I just want to see if and how that will work. There is something in the way Lucas moves and connect with Ozil behind him and the wide forwards that could produce something special. This is all speculative of course, but would be nice to see if it works.
Ospina and Özil are our match winners this time around. A few mistakes from the central defence forces Ospina into some real classy saves. A lesser keeper would have clattered the Ludogorets striker and we would have been a man down, possibly with a 1-1 result and in dire need of goals…
Hasn’t Ospina gotten a lot more length in his kicks recently? I saw one ball end up in the Ludogorets half!
I really liked Alexis as well, but he gets a bit too selfish sometimes. Pass the damn ball!
What fun it was watching a laugher!
I agree with the ratings for the most part, but I feel the defensive ones are a wee bit generous. Ludogorets is hardly a fantastic team, yet we gifted them a lot of chances. We were a bit careless, which is worrying as it’s been something of a trend lately.
Beyond that it was brilliant.
If only Justin Bieber could make music like Ozil he’d be worthy of touching his shirt, until then forget it.
Ozil is a natural goal scorer.
Say that again #Blueblack
Walcotts on fire…your defence is terrified!
nobody?
Anyone else think Özil’s goals last night (as well as this season in general) have been very reminiscent of a certain Dennis Bergkamp? Could picture DB10 scoring all three of those in similar fashion (albeit on his right foot).
Ludacris Rapsgood
Walcotts goal was play of the game for.me.
Still some defensive errors and some last ditch defending we need to figure out. We’re giving up good chances but getting away with it so if we can clear that up well be scary good. I suspect the center backs pairing will get better over time.
