Chuba Akpom is stepping up his recovery from a back injury which has kept him out for most of the season thus far.
The 21 year old has a single appearance to his name, playing 83 minutes of the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup in September, but has been sidelined since.
He’s on his way back though, Tweeting today:
Nice to be back running on the AlterG treadmill , been a while but feeling good and closer to my return ???? #AFC

For those that don’t know the AlterG Treadmill reduces gravity’s impact by selecting any weight between 20% and 100% of the user’s body weight by 1% increments.
Thus reducing strain on troubled areas but allowing a good cardio workout. It’s basically like going into space but without helmets, wormholes or lightsabers.
Anyway, good luck to Chuba, who could make it back for the FA Cup in January.
Chuba needs to give a fierce commpetition to Perez. he has to do it in training to get game time. Arsenal will be the winner.
So many LANS strikers. Where’s our Santi ?
There may not be lightsabers, wormholes, or helmets, but there are still blasters, photon torpedoes, and rancors to worry about. The day you go back to training is a very dangerous day.
Why would anyone go into space without a light sabre? That’s just asking for trouble.
Kids these days.
I’m pretty sure that chuba(cca) knows his way around a lightsabre!
