It looks as if the signing of 20 year Cohen Bramall is close to completion after the player and his agent travelled to London Colney today.
The left-back was offered a trial with the Gunners after being scouted plying his trade currently in English football’s seventh-tier – the Evo-Stick Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Director of Football at his previous club Nantwich, Jon Gold, told BBC Radio Stoke, “It’s fantastic to see players go through like this.
“He was obviously a great talent when he first came to us but the manager at the time was going with older players. That happens. Jamie Vardy was turned down by many clubs, don’t forget, including even Crewe.
“Cohen’s a lovely lad. I’m not sure he was taking his football that seriously and he went around the area a bit before moving on to Hednesford, but sometimes it can take time.
“He played against us earlier in the season and he was man of the match. We’re proud to have played even a little part in his development.”
And the club itself Tweeted:
Congratulations and good luck to former Dabber Cohen Bramall on his move to Arsenal. Fantastic to see a local lad reaching the big leagues.

Having been put through his paces with the Arsenal first team in a first team trial, Arsene Wenger was suitably impressed to offer him a deal.
The Gunners can currently count on Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs on the left side of defence. While there have been rumours that the latter could leave the club, there’s no suggestion he’ll be moving during the current window meaning Bramall has time to get to grips with his new surroundings.
They are certainly very different from what he’s used to. In a recent interview with Football.London, his agent revealed that the youngster was recently made redundant from his position at a Bentley factory.
“It sounds crass to say this is a dream come true for Cohen but it clearly is,” said representative Dan Chapman.
“We love playing a part in helping a young man, who was working full-time in the Bentley factory until made redundant recently, whilst playing for Hednesford as well, become a professional footballer and now have – if he grabs his opportunity – a fabulous career ahead of him.”
Fun fact – Cohen is currently sponsored by philatelic dealers Lizandystamps …no, we’re not joking.
Would it be fair to say he’s got their stamp of approval?
I hear he has an excellent delivery into the box.
We’ll see when he posts his first performance.
My back of the envelope calculations tell me that he could be a bargain.
He’ll give the opposition a good licking (tenuous now).
Could be a first class signing that really addresses some of the weaknesses in the squad. With time he could become a pass-cel force within the team and help deliver a league championship.
(I’ll get my coat)
I for one will be glued to the box if he plays
Licking…ooo…what kind of licking, so long as its not just arse licking.:D
I really hope I hear Arsene say ”I’m sorry he didn’t cost 50 million.”
haha, we did pinch a scout from Leicester so this guy might make it 🙂
Definitely winning the league now
Let’s hope he turns out to be a Rolls Royce player (not a Bentley, David was bad enough).
I hear he has a good engine.
Could be the fuel we need (what is wrong with me?).
I’m still not sure, if this is reality or just a joke.
Hope he turns out well and will be a good addition.
He looks more like a tricky winger than a left back. Let’s hope wherever he plays in the future, he does well and makes it at the club ?
Im not being ironic but im guessing this kid has some impressive mental strength
Sign him up now and play him in the cup? ?
Might already be cup-tied from the preliminary rounds.
Is it just me that is wondering why someone playing in the Evo-Stick Northern Premier League Premier Division would need an agent?
In my neighbourhood’s minifootball club there is a guy that serve beautiful corners. Think Arsenal should scout him too, to add power to team attack. I’m sure through negotiations they could get fair money agreement
This signing reminds me of a certain Clichy
Sound like this kid is cohen places
.. sorry ciao
