At his press conference on Friday Arsene Wenger said that Laurent Koscielny’s chances of playing against Sp*rs on Sunday were 60-40.
Well, it looks a bit more promising than that as the French international took part in training today ahead of tomorrow’s crunch clash at White Hart Lane.
The 31 year picked up a knee problem towards the end of Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Leicester, and was a doubt, but now appears to be well on track to feature in a game that Arsenal really need to win.
He was pictured in conversation with Arsene Wenger, and hopefully he’s come through whatever medical tests he was given.
The Arsenal manager said he could still play with three at the back if Koscielny didn’t make it, but obviously you’d fancy our chances for more if he was playing than not.
Lucas Perez is also in contention for a return to the squad as he steps up his return from a thigh injury.
Thank Bergkamp. COYG!!!
The rest of the defence have been performing so well that Kos’s adaptation into the back three has gone under the radar. Early days I know, but he’s looked really comfortable sweeping up in the centre and orchestrating the defence a bit more. He’s got the pace to cover for the other two as well. Really hope he’s fit, we’re gonna need him.
Good News 🙂
Like last weekend, for some strange, ridiculous reason I’m quite confident about tomorrow. This is a welcome boost.
Watch us now go get pummelled.. 🙁
I’m with you. Either Arsenal win or complete pummeling. Hopefully former.
It will be high intensity and end to end I reckon. As long as we keep organised and disciplined I think we’ll be okay.. don’t lose our heads if we concede first..
My question is now with a lot of players back who plays? Stick with the three man centre back? If so, bellerin or Ox?
Yes stick with back three with Ox and Monreal wing backs, Gabs, Kos, Holding, sorry Hector…
Or both? Hector as wingback, Ox instead of Ramsey in the middle?
Ramsey has played to well to be taken out of the team
In 3-4-2-1 they have a strong midfield with Dembele, Wanyama, Eriksen and Alli. The difference with sp*rs this season is they are playing as a unit. Like Wenger said the other day, playing 3-4-3 means the players know their roles better (hence the efficiency) as opposed to an open-minded creative approach. We need Xhaka, Ramsey and Ozil to be strong in duels and second balls. I really hope LUCAS OR SANOGO replace Iwobi on the bench. I don’t thinks sp*rs CB’s can anticipate the movements of players like Lucas/sanogo as they are extremely unpredictable volatile in their gameplay and that… Read more »
That system is working really well for us now, Monreal has been a monster for the last 3 games. Hope Wenger starts Welbeck ahead of Giroud tomorrow. Otherwise #WengerOut all the same
This isn’t banner time. This is COYG time.
So true.
Absolutely!
Spuds certainly won’t know how to handle Lucas! Interesting…

Derby day. Form goes out the window.
How about this lineup?
Cech
Ox – Gab – Kos – Holding – Monreal
Elneny – Xhaka
Ozil – Giroud – Alexis

We need Kos fit for us to be fully effective with the 3 at the back if Perez could’nt get in the squad when fit before how does he even get a thought of being in this new formation
Actually, he could get in much more easily if Sanchez were to be played as the CF.
