Haha.. what a lad! What a player.. what a wonderful player!
And he fucked up Arnautovic the other week!!! Nothing to do with yesterday, but still, how good was that??!?
That along with when he did the “Got a brain?” impression to Costa yesterday.
Loved it.
That shows he’s got balls, not cowering away from that bastard! More please
I think he was saying “you kicked me in the head, you asshole, and I know it was on purpose.” Which he did, and which it was.
he sounds so British in that clip! Well done lad.
The revenge for DeBuchy made me especially proud. He’s going to be a real player! But what do we do about Mert now? Holy smokes we have a lot of great CBs right now. Chambers was Boro’s player of the year too 🙂
Give Per an extension as player/assistant coaching staff and roll him into the organization. He’s that good of a person and presence.
Brilliant idea. Mertersacker exudes class character and professionalism. That stuff is contagious.
Let Per and Kos alternate in the middle of the back three. Kos needs to cut down on the number of games due to his achilles problems, Per’s a great leader.
Holding, Mustafi, Gabriel and Chambers (and Monreal) to rotate on the other positions.
This is the news I come to this site for
If he keeps going Holding could be one of the best defenders in the world, well done Holding and the rest of the squad for the win.
What a lad, what a performance. Specially loved the high fives between him and per after every good piece of defending. Also loved the way he told Costa that costa’s a psychopath. What a win. Love you Arsenal
He’s one of the positives of the season. He’s one of the reasons we won our recent matches. His best quality is his composure. Credit to Wenger for buying and playing him. He’s going to be a legend in an Arsenal shirt.
We have plenty of good CB : Kos, Rob, Per, Mustafi, Gabriel, Bielik who should break into first team soon. Wenger has a good problem right there. He will probably use Bielik as a DM.
And Chambers. Crazy.
Probably why we switched to a back three. Can imagine every one of them getting decent game-time next season. Except Bielik, who should probably go out on loan. Also, you forgot Chambers.
I think it’s more that we don’t have a solid distributor that’s skilled on the ball like Cazorla or Arteta in front of the back four. Without a commanding solid point in our spine, we needed more stability to let our offensive players also flourish up front.
We are proud of you.everyone of you dig deep to bring out the trophy. Keep it up
Look, honestly. Lets forget Wenger debates, and just look very neutrally at the facts. The man has won 7 FA cups, having rarely lost in the final. Isn’t this the definition of big game performance? 3 FA cups in 4 years is a pretty incredible achievement – unmatched. For those who said trophies mattered – I mean hasn’t he delivered completely? I’d love for Arsene to bow out with his head held high saying I’ve done everything. Now over to you, the club I love, to do what’s best. L
Plus he would have probably won v Liverpool without an outrageous handball on the goal line.
Wenger staying is that not whats best for the club?
Well, it depends on the level of analysis. If you’re looking at trophies won, I guess you could say that we’ve had a pretty good return over the last four years. But if you look deeper, evaluate our Champions League performances game by game and analyze our Premier League games (even the cup games), it’d be significantly harder to make a case for why Wenger is the best man for the job. That being said, I would want him to stay one more season. Not because of the FA Cup win, but because I think it’s too late to find… Read more »
Also, this is a post about Rob Holding; it’s amazing how easy it is for someone to sucker me into a debate about Wenger. I apologise.
Query who else is available to take over Wenger next season… Not saying he should stay but I wonder who is available and interested.
Allegri or stick with wenger. Ive been impressed with not only allegri tactically but the way he rotates without losing juves structure
we have in insane squad depth provided we don’t lose any top players
Allegri will not be at Arsenal next season. He just extended his stay with the ol lady. Would cost Arsenal a shitload to get him.
Actually 3 fa cups in 4 years has been done before. Of course it arsenal managed by arsene wenger that did it!
Rob Holding, you know, he’s better than Cannavaro
Is he better than Cannavaro? No one seems to want to answer my question.
Better than John Stones and not even tongue-in-cheekily
For as much as I love Holding I wish people wouldn’t go over the top as much as they do. Saying why isn’t he in the England team or he should start every week. Remember he’s only 21, I’d rather see him grow into the role over time and develop into a star rather than whats happened with Wilshere, too many games at a young age leading to injury problems, now he’s out on loan and people aren’t as excited for him as a player as they once were. Lets enjoy when he plays but not try to force the… Read more »
Id argue that at 21, hes primed to play consistently. Wilshere was playing in cm at top level at 16. More likely to get injured playing cm id argue. Let him be
Big question, whether its a 3 or a 2 at the back, who starts in defense on the first day of next season?
Whoever plays well in the Community Shield.
Isn’t that against Chelsea too??
Yep, and we’ll fuck them over then, too.
It would be crazy to go back to 2 at the back, unless against greatly inferior opposition. Apart from the Spurs game the new formation has been a huge success, 7 league wins out of 8 and 2 FA cup match victories. It seems to suit the team and just makes us so much more resilient in defence, whilst allowing our wing backs to join in on counter attacks. Too late to save our league position this year, but bodes well for next season.
Exactly. Too many of our best players are CB, so it is in our best interest to stay with 3. Also, with Kolasinac coming, and Nacho’s performances, we can look at him as a CB quite often now. That’s 7 top quality CB not including Bielik!
Rob Holding sat out the spurs game – I’m not sure it’s a coincidence that it was the only game we lost playing with 3 at the back.
Stay with a back 3, Holding, Per and Kos, Hector and Nacho as wingbacks. Xhaka and Rambo in the middle and hopefully, Ozil, Alexis and Danny up front
Is there any thoughts about selling Gabriel? He has been pretty indifferent; sometimes he is great other times he has been a liability. With the amount of CBs we have (Kos, Mert, Mustafi, Holding, Chambers, Nacho (as Kolasinac is coming in and as Ox can play there too, Nacho can be classed as a CB). Six CBs seems sufficient doesn’t it?
Who the fuck is Cannalager anyway?
It would be great if we could get the lyrics for this song
I will have to change my blog name.
Things I loved about yesterday… – Rob refusing to be intimitaed by that ugly fucker – Alexis’ hands of God ha – Coq’s showboating – Welbeck’s sheer fucking workrate – Moses’ beautiful lack of awarenes of where the ref was when he decided to take a dive – Per’s owning of Costa…time and again – Kroenke’s suit – wtf? – Chelsea thinking they’re back in it – for all of 60 seconds – Wenger’s smile Lots more to add I’m sure. Fantastic game and such a deserved win. So pleased for Arsene too. Three cup wins in four years –… Read more »
It was only 60 seconds because of the celebration and the Giroud substitution. From the kickoff to Ramsey’s goal, Chelsea never touched the ball. And thank God–I don’t think I could have survived extra time.
Ozil’s tackle on Hazard. Ozil’s performance in general.
Nacho’s passion.
Granit’s solidity (pun intended)
Anyone know where I can find a clip of that tackle?
I agree with Nacho’s passion. When Ospina made that save off Costa’s volley (which he should have scored, hahahah) Nacho was so happy!
You left out the arguably the biggest positive of the day; John Terry in pains and close to tears for missing out on another trophy-lifting cameo!
Yeah apologies for my obvious oversight – he actually looks even more of a cunt when he’s sad
A showboating Coq…may have earned a shot at wing back as backup
Holding likes himself a wee bit of argy-bargy it appears. A damn fine quality for a good young defender
TOMAS ROSICKY supporting the boys. Also Bellerin’s full throttle flying slide tackle.
When I woke up this morning my wife asked if I slept ok. I told her I dreamt of Rob Holding. She smiled, nodded, and understood.
She dreamt of him too?
I don’t know about that but I bet Diego Costa and Eden Hazard were having nightmares…
If Stones = 50 ; Holding = 100
if Stones == 50:
Holding = 100
Or in a C++/ Java
if (Stones == 50) {
Holding = 100;
}
hmm.. you didn’t initialize your Stones and Holding variables..
but still, Rob’s awesome!
while (1)
std::cout << "Rob Holding's awesome!" << std::endl;
Why am I doing this 😐
var mytheory = ”;
var theory a = “Holding trumps Stones all day”;
var theory b = “Stones is better than Holding”;
if(mytheory == a)
{alert(‘smart boy!’);}
else(mytheory == b)
{alert(‘What’s wrong with you? you’re probably a John Terry sympathiser..psycho!’);}
Wholly Shit, I’m in the Twilight zone! Is this some kind of ‘Coding’ reference? Apologies, I’m old!
Credit where credit is due.Holding what a signing by wenger.
and having the balls to play him
And Rambos back
How many times is that in the last 8 years, for how long?
It’s a shame Coquelin didn’t work out in the midfield in front of him this season.
Otherwise, it would been a great season combo in the spine of the team of Holding-Coq.
Rewind to the start of the season, I remember a lot of flak Arsene took for signing this lad when others were penning big names to bolster their squads, when we paid a mere pittance for a kid from Bolton. Another frugal Arsene purchase, more desperation from Arsenal, haha. Today, I do hope that the humble pie that had to be eaten came with whipped cream to sweeten the bitterness of those that slighted both. Lad had moxy and holy hell, he’s completely out of fucks given to those that want to try and bully him. Wonder how many Holding… Read more »
Very impressed by Rob’s recent performances. The future of Arsenal. Great buy by Arsene. <3
People talk about Wenger’s skills of recruitment being deminished, but city paid a lot more for holding lite, aka John Stones.
“I’m sorry he didn’t cost £50million” Epic piece of business there in fairness ?
Later in the game Costa tapped Rob on the chest as if to say “you are alright mate”. Holding has already got his opponents’ respect. He is going to be a fearless beast imo.
Because David Dein bought him. Again important not to get carried away. He is an impressive talent sourced by Wenger from lower league WITHOUT help of a “Director of Football”…in fact very likely Dick Law penned the deal. But he still has a learning curve. Made a mistake with the Costa goal which he should learn from I’m sure but the fans need to stop over hyping players and seeing certain ones through tinted lenses. I think Holding is different from say Jenko or Elneny, the latter two are MEDIOCRE players which some fans would deem to think quality for… Read more »
