Hector Bellerin’s Spain will face Germany in the final of the UEFA under-21 European Championships on Friday.
A hat-trick by Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez sealed a 3-1 win for La Roja against ten-man Italy last night; the Spaniards’ fourth consecutive victory in Poland.
Hector Bellerin played the full 90 minutes, to follow up on the appearances he made against Macedonia and Portugal. He was rested for the final group game against Serbia. Prior to the tournament
Prior to the tournament, the Arsenal right-back had promised to donate £50 for every minute he played in the tournament to the Grenfell Tower appeal. As things stand he’ll be donating £13,500 and could hand over up to another £6,000 if he, as expected, features in the final. Top work.

Earlier in the evening, Germany overcame England 4-3 on penalties following a pulsating 2-2 draw played out over 120 minutes.
Southampton’s Nathan Redmond followed in the footsteps of Gareth Southgate and Chris Waddle by missing a must-score penalty against the Germans. Calum Chambers played the full game for Aidy Boothroyd’s side, his fourth of the tournament, while Rob Holding was again left on the bench.
Chambers and Holding will now head off for a well-deserved break before returning to London Colney in late July for the start of their pre-season preparations. Both players will miss the Gunners tour of Australia and China.
