Arsene Wenger has confirmed that new boy Alexander Lacazette will feature for Arsenal in their two games in Sydney this week.
The club’s record-signing has had 24 hours to get to know his new teammates on the flight from London and is expected to hit the ground running when the Gunners play Sydney FC at the ANZ Stadium on Thursday.
“Lacazette will make his debut here, yes,” the boss told a press conference on arrival Down Under.
“On Thursday night he will certainly play a part in the game and in the other game as well. In the two games he will take part.”
Bosnian left-back Sead Kolasinac has also made the journey with Wenger predicting a big impact from both his summer signings.
“We play football based on movement, technical qualities and mobility, and I believe that both of the new signings can integrate well into the team.
“One is a defender who can play on the flank and centrally, and one is a striker with a very good goalscoring record, so I believe that they are great additions to the team. It’s a good opportunity as well to have a first look at how well and how quickly they will integrate with the way we want to play.”
Looking forwad to seeing Lacazette playing. We wanna see his movement, pace and link up play. We might be in for a treat.

Use timezone converter. Both games kick off 7:30pm Sydney time. That would likely be 10:30 am London time??
And I know both games are being broadcast live on free to air tv in Australia on the SBS network. And streamed through thier app.

I’d only say to allow him time to settle and get used to playing with the rest of the team. Even Pires wasn’t that good in the first half of his first season.
Hope Kolasinac is played at left centre back in a back 3, allowing Alexis and Monreal to continue the excellent understanding they have with each other.
Sead holding kos with Gabriel back-up sounds good. If we go 4-4-2, we can have 6 defender on the field to see out the lead with 4cb + nacho + bellerin

I think it’s currently Lacazette or Giroud up top, both bring different attrbutes. Lacazette is more mobile, plays off the shoulder like Aguero. Giroud is more old fashion, lethal in 6 yard box, muscular presence and height to break the door down. Welbeck to me is third choice now. He has a good blend but he really needs to sharpen up in front of goal. If he does, he can takeover from Giroud bc he has the physique. We scored plenty of goals last season but our front men particularly Welbeck were not as efficient as need be.
GIroud its hard to tell with him bc he has been scoring for France, and had less opportunities with us but came on to score.
BUT clearly Wenger wants to make sure IF Alexis goes, we have replacement for his goals in Lacazette.
