The date for Arsenal’s fourth round Carabao Cup game against Norwich has been confirmed.
The Gunners will host the League One side on Tuesday October 24th with a kick-off time of 7.45 (this may change if the tie is selected for television coverage).
It comes just two days after an away trip to Everton on October 22nd, which in turn comes just three days after a trip to face Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.
The fixture congestion will ensure that Arsene Wenger will rotate his squad, essentially fielding two different teams for the Premier League and the cup competitions.
Arsenal face a similar situation this week with a game tonight against West Brom, a trip to Belarus to meet Bate Borisov on Thursday, before a midday kickoff on Sunday in the Premier League when we host Brighton.
It’s certainly going to be a test of squad depth.
Norwich aren’t fantastic, but they’re not League One either.
How no one gets any new injuries, particularly the full backs where we’d be really stretched.
Would have been nice to have a proper RB challenging Bellerin by getting playing time in all these cup games.
what’s up with the Sagna story?
I agree. But flip side is that this does give Nelson and ANM first team opportunity, even if not in their preferred positions.
That’s bonkers. No team should ever have less than 3 days between matches. Full stop.
I’m a Norwich fan, and we have our derby against Ipswich on the Sunday as well, it’s a absolute joke!
You have to wonder what Nobel laureate came up with this ridiculous schedule. We have one day off before this match and three days off afterwards before the next league match. Why was the Cow Cup match not put on Wednesday so we’d have two days off before and after? It’s insane.
We should focus on winning this cup.
Maybe the only thing we can win.
