West Brom game postponed until later in the season

Earlier today the fixtures for television were revealed and the Gunners have five games on TV throughout the month.

The games are as follows:

Saturday, December 2

17:30 Arsenal v Man Utd (BT Sport)
(originally 3pm)

Sunday, December 10
12:00 Southampton v Arsenal (BT Sport)
(originally TBC)

Wednesday, December 13
20:00 West Ham v Arsenal (BT Sport)
(originally 7.45pm)

Friday, December 22
19:45 Arsenal v Liverpool (Sky Sports)
(originally Saturday, December 23, 3pm)

Thursday, December 28
20:00 Crystal Palace v Arsenal (Sky Sports)
(originally Tuesday, December 26, 3pm)

The visit to Selhurst Park was originally scheduled for December 26th, with a visit to West Brom on the agenda for December 30th before a January 1st showdown with Chelsea at the Emirates.

However, due to the Palace game being moved to December 28th, the West Brom fixture will be played at a later date this season. There are still some games in December and early January to be revealed so we may find out when they’re revealed later this month.

Hey Arseblog, cheers for this have you got a link to a PL/Sky source on this?

Could “later in the season” just well mean the 31st and the Chelsea game gets bumped to say the 3rd?

GraeB

No it will be in between PL/League Cup/FACup/Europa games later in the season so we’ll play twice every week to get more injuries and win nothing!

Naga Gooner

Too many late kickoffs there for my liking. Can’t help but notice Christmas eve game is off but mugsmashers still getting shafted a bit with the late kickoff

Red-Wing

I actually much prefer late kickoffs to lunch time games.

Shifting the Palace game is a bit odd given that it means we have to postpone a fixture. Not complaining as it means we get a lighter schedule. Expect other sides to complain.

Clock-End Mike

Hmm, I’ve never heard of a game being postponed just because another game was moved at the whim of the TV companies. Just shows the PL now belongs to BT and Sky.
Still, better than 3 games in 5 days, I guess.

Andrew

still think we’ll see a move to the xmas eve game now for the pool match since they’ve pushed the palace game out. Imagine they’ll screw people’s over at short notice once their travel plans are locked in.

Or has there been a statement that there will 100% be no xmas eve game?
