Arsene Wenger says Sead Kolasinac will play no part in Thursday’s game with Red Star Belgrade but is in contention to face Manchester City on Sunday.
The Bosnian international limped from the field with a hip problem in the second half of his man-of-the-match performance against Swansea City but should recover in time for the visit to Pep Guardiola’s table-toppers.
“Sead Kolasinac was today much better,” reported Wenger on Wednesday.
“He’ll have attest at the end of the week. He’s not involved tomorrow but could be ok for Sunday. It’s not as bad as we feared at the start.”
There were also updates on some other injured members of the squad.
“David Ospina is short [in fitness for tomorrow], maybe he will be available for Sunday. Calum chambers is back in full training but not fit enough [for tomorrow].
“Welbeck and Mustafi will be back after the international break.”

Wenger added, ” he is now in 2079 upgrading his shield and armor and will be available for contention for the City game”.

I criticise Ospina because he’s a poor error prone keeper who should have been sold. Sad we sold our best keeper for a song. You’ve never made an accurate observation about Ozil who is the most creative player in England with more chances created than any other player in the country. I am ambivalent about Theo who has never quite fulfilled his potential
