Arsenal’s match with Southampton rescheduled

The Premier League have confirmed that Arsenal’s home game against Southampton will now be played on Sunday, 8 April after the two clubs agreed to bring the match forward a day.

The match had been moved to Monday, 9 April (8pm kick-off) for broadcast purposes. It will still be broadcast in the UK on Sky Sports, but now at 2.15pm on Sunday.

The arrangement means the Gunners will have less time to prepare for the visit of the Saints after the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final with CSKA Moscow, but advantageously, more time to prepare for their second leg in Russia on Thursday 12 April.

Presumably, the request for a change was made by us based on today’s draw.

Very sad that there is no more football from Arsenal for the rest of the month!

Couldn’t have agreed with this before the Milan games but now I feel the same. Fuckin Arsenal man… it’s a sickness. No matter how badly they fuck me off, it doesn’t take much to reset and get excited again.

we need all the available advantages to win this trophy….

Still think it’s madness we were scheduled in for Monday night games during European weeks in the first place. I doubt West Ham will be as accommodating as Southampton have been should we beat CSKA.

It’s a pity we aren’t playing Stoke on the Saturday rather than the Sunday before the 1st leg. At least we’re at home.

I hope Stoke go down this year. Like a trophy ?

Sheffield gooner I couldn’t agree more with your comment, I loathe that team!!!

That’s good news. Playing on Monday night then flying to Russia on Wednesday or Thursday for a Europa League match was not a promising schedule. I’m actually surprised Sky were so accommodating.

Anyway, there’s nothing I enjoy less than Monday night football, unless it’s Friday night football. Or Sunday morning football. Actually, I don’t really like Sunday football at all. It was much better when everyone played at 3pm Saturday afternoon, and after the match you’d listen to your transistor radio to find out what all the other scores were. Guess I’m showing my age…

Nice of Southampton to agree

I was wondering why there is no match schedule on arseblog news. I hate having to go to another website to have to check what date our next game is after reading about it on this blog. Please add an arsenal calender on arseblog. thanks
