No need to apologise! Keep up the good work

I dis thing ozil was superb today, but maybe ramsey deserved motm a bit more?
I thought Laca had a good game too, his second was so cool

I’ve never waited for a by the numbers with this much anticipation before

The game definitely seemed to pass Jack by but unfortunately the few times he had the ball he tended to be poor. Just seems to be playing within himself atm, maybe it’s the injuries or maybe he knows he’s leaving. Saying that I think his positioning in midfield is helping Ramsey flourish, allowing him to make more of his trademark runs without leaving too much space in the middle. On the other hand, playing Ozil wide right probably isn’t sustainable as he tends to vacate the flank at every opportunity which leaves Bellerin exposed. A real head scratcher for Wenger.

Bob Hoskins

I think he struggles playing further up as well but, I’m not sure. I think Elneny in for Wilshere for the away leg would be sensible.

Ozil is claiming hattrick of assists, so he is counting penalty as an assist. is it counted by opta???

fengunner

I don’t agree that Ramsey was better than Ozil. Yes, a “flick” finally came off, but how many times does he lose the ball by trying those silly flicks and backheels? He is also selfish – far too many wasted attempts on goal where others were in a better position to score. The other thing I’ve noticed is that Jack tends to be poor because HE is supposed to be the number 10, but Ramsey seems to think that is his role. So Wilshere is caught between playing his role and covering for Ramsey who consistently is missing from his… Read more »

the anger is strong in this one.

What is he like when we LOSE?

Alex Iwobi came on and did the minimum expected of him – maintain width on the left touchline to create space in the central areas, keep possession so we don’t get counter-attacked, and help out defensively. He did all three. Because he was able to keep possession so well despite being pressed by two CSKA goons at a time, he made Nacho’s job easier and let him overlap and support the attack. Yes Alex should have scored on Ozil’s key pass! But overall his strength and skill led to a couple of good scoring chances for others and he would’ve… Read more »

Ozil was epic. Only wish he nailed his casual shot end of the first half to score a ‘perfect’

Cheers like someone said .. no need to apologise .. Even when brief The by number bits is always enjoyable and might have altered the way i look at games live. Definitely has made me more objective.

Thanks, 7am. It was a strange game. Ramsey was justified in his commitment to offense, as it turned out. It might be a suicidal strategy against Atleti, but maybe adjustments will be made for that opponent.

To answer your question, yes, I think Jack had a poor game.

I hadn’t realized until I read this how many times Bellerin lost the ball. In Moscow, that may be punished. I also hadn’t realized how badly we were beaten in the air. I don’t get why that should be.
