Last week, we featured an image from kit-leak specialists Footyheadlines.com featuring their prediction for next season’s Arsenal home shirt.
Aside from the completely unnecessary red pinstripes (pinhoops, perhaps?) on the sleeves, it was a passable effort by Puma in their final year as the club’s kit supplier.
Alas, new ‘official’ images of the kit have now been made public and the kit is significantly uglier than predicted.
It’s really quite a monstrosity…we’ll go so far as to say it’s probably enough to scare away potential candidates for the vacant managerial post.
Take a look.
This. Is. Hideous.
Wouldn’t look out of place in a Primark sale bin.
I’m normally hesitant to respond to marketing surveys, but when I had the opportunity to answer one from Arsenal about how I feel about Puma, I took it and gave them a piece of my mind…
looks like acid wash or something from the 80s. I kind of liked the collar from this year’s kit. Please bring Nike back soon so I can buy a new shirt.
Do we have a Director of Hideous Football Kits now too? Whoever signed up for this was probably also involved in the signings of Squillaci, Santos, Stepanovs, and Park Chu-Yung!
Puma must be laughing like mad at getting away with this joke for their goodbye.
Now that wengers out, can the people that protested and lifted banners please shift their attention to “Puma Out”? Please?
Doesn’t look like a sports kit, materialwise. Maybe it’s part of the extended line up?
Red with white sleeves! [plus a few minor details for people to comment on]
Exciting!!!
Where do they get their ideas from?
Where did you get your eyes from?
I know, attention to detail is my forte.
Never expected red shirt with white sleeves, never seen that before at Arsenal. Wow!
i think you guys are missing the fact that he’s being sarcastic
Thanks for some people bright enough to spot this.
Every time we get a red shirt with white sleeves, plus minor variations, hard to get v excited imo.
Please football gods, not pink stripes and red marl!
Maybe it’s the stadium jersey?
My current kit has Alexis’ name on it so I was going to buy a new one for the upcoming season. Seeing this, emphasis on was.
Burn it
Buy one of these new shirts, WITH Alexis’ name on it… that’ll show him.
Doesn’t help that the away and 3rd kit look shit this season too.
That’s it. I’m going on sabbatical for next season
Those ghastly sleeves…
Oh my word…this is terrible. Surely somebody in authority must speak up. The Emperor has clothes but would be better with none!
Horrible!
That is the ugliest home shirt I can remember. Even Giroud would have struggled to look good in that.
He would have looked good despite the shirt, let’s be real.
Not sure he looks that good in a Chelsea shirt
They’ve fiddled with the colour of the shirt again. Won’t be buying another shirt again if the colour isn’t right.
fucking awful. roll on adidas
i dont buy shirts never have done, last one i bought was the centenary one because it was historic. Most re designs are minor and make a litlle difference so i couldn’t give a toss but this is absolutely horrible.
FFS dont mess with the sleaves. God damn you people.
Every arsenal home top should look as close or exactly like the 88-92 shirts. Even bring back the canon on its own in all its glory. Nothing beats those shirts in my eyes.

I go back a long way, the ’71 home and away was classic Arsenal. The Cup Final kit was brilliant.
At least they only keep the kits for one season these days.
Even the model couldn’t get past one photo before taking that crime against humanity off.
Dah fuq ?
Who approved this?
I don’t even care about the sleeves that much… the biggest “crime” here is the bizarre collar/neckline. The whole thing looks like a blatant rip of Nike’s 2014-2017 national jersey template from the back. I’m convinced Puma designed this as a final “FU” to the club for not renewing their contract…
Neck looks more irritating than Joey Barton on a rainy November night. Does this shirt herald the signing of BBR (Brendan Bloody Rogers) as part of a joke summer?
This is worst than our away form in 2018.
What the fuck is this?
It looks like a practice kit
*boilk*
absolutely appalling shirt design. Puma are clearly “salty af” that we’ve gone with another brand for the year after. When looking at The Dortmond/Leicester kits which are basically our kits but in different colours they have more details like “DORTMUND” at the back or the little fox logo on the neckline. It seems like Puma phoned this one in because there’s no cannon on the back or any kind of unique embroidery. Puma saving all their designs for when they take over as Man City Sponsor the season after. Respect to the guy who said this shirt wouldn’t look out… Read more »
Surely this is the pajama version?
Holy F that’s an ugly shirt. The blue one looked pretty nice but this is a travesty
All the more reason to switch to Adidas
OK – so what deos it look like before the boil and bleach wash?
Last week I thought “actually a clever method to evaluate how the current design is perceived within the fanbase. They’ll probably stick with white sleeves then.”
Well, actually they weren’t that clever…
Oh Dear. How are they going to market this?
“The lines on the sleeves represent our divided, fractured, thinning fanbase, while the utterly grim red marl is a metaphor for the abysmal football the team have been serving up for the last 18 months or so. The red strip across the neck reminds us that fans would have been slicing their throats had we not decided to finally move the manager on…”
Trash!
Is it really Puma’s fault though? Surely they give the club a whole bunch of designs and one gets greenlit? Surely???
Godawful. The Puma contract cannot end soon enough – this horrible kit damages the Arsenal brand. First season with a new manager warrants a traditional shirt.
F*ck off Puma
Does the club ever get a veto decision on kits? Do they get a choice? I can’t understand some of the horrendous kits we’ve had recently.
If someone like Sheamus (WWE) wore this shirt, he would look like a women in a red towel coming out of the bathroom..
I’m alright with the “Heather Red”. It’s those shoulders and sleeves that make me want to vomit.
Looks like something the waitstaff would wear at a football-themed restaurant
They seem to get worse every season!!
Did they add the stupid stripes on the sleeves to divert attention from the awkwardly misshaped neck hole? just why…
What the fuck.
I’ve seen some poor kits in my time and this is one of the worst.
What the fuck is that crap on the sleeve and why? Did someone actually get paid to add that?
A class of Primary School children could have made a better job.
Like a cheap knock off found on a Turkish beach. Bring on Adidas.
Looks like a pyjama too
What’s with the sleeve stripe, and where’s the collar? The world is getting way to casual.
That shirt is so ugly it made Arsene Wenger decide to leave Arsenal after 22 years.. That shirt is so ugly the moon decided to start moving away from planet earth by 4 cm each year. That shirt is so ugly Patrick Vieira then who feared no one and nothing actually moved to U.S.A to coach football so as not to be on the same continent as this hideous creation. That shirt is so ugly that Kim jong Un upon seeing what Nato had got in their Arsenal decided it best to ask for peace talks in fear of Nato… Read more »
Maybe the red stripe on the sleeves are because of advertising. A lot of companies have logos that might not sit well on white
This amazingly, looks kinda good! scratch that, its great! WOW! great job Puma, least you didn’t mess potential final work.away and 3rd kit looked good too.Dare i say new contract for them?
Well,go back to the old days,I ain’t buying this one ether ,who does this rubbish,it doesn’t even look nice,it’s getting worse by the season,,you can’t even tell who,s playing anymore
Just cant wait for adidas to take over. Smh
