Arsenal Women’s Dutch trio Sari van Veenendaal, Dominique Janssen and Danielle van de Donk have all signed new contracts with the club. They join Jordan Nobbs, Emma Mitchell and Leah Williamson in extending their terms with the Gunners in 2018.
All three joined the club shortly after the 2015 World Cup in Canada and all were prominent members of the Netherlands squad that won last summer’s European Championships on home soil.
van de Donk, Janssen and van Veenendaal won the Continental Cup in 2015 and 2018 and the 2016 FA Women’s Cup at the club. Manager Joe Montemurro told Arsenal.com, “Dominique, Sari and Danielle are all incredibly talented athletes. They are true professionals on and off the pitch and they are a vital part of our team. We are delighted that they have signed new contracts with us, so we can continue to work with them and to see them flourish individually.”

First choice goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal told the official website, ““I’m feeling proud to play for Arsenal and proud every time I wear the Arsenal kit, and being around my team-mates,” she told Arsenal Player. “It’s an amazing feeling.
“I think I can still develop myself and I’m feeling better every year. I’ve learnt a lot here and have great team-mates and staff around me. I think that will help me to develop myself every single week, every single day, to be the best Sari I can be.”

Meanwhile, defensive midfielder Janssen said, “I’m really happy, especially now that Joe’s come in,” she told Arsenal Player. “It’s been a big change, so I’m really happy to be staying here and I’m getting better as a player here.
“If you just look at the history, it’s a very big club and we’d really like to win more prizes than we have already. I’m proud to be here and win those prizes. I just want to continue.”

We spoke to Dominique back in March.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Danielle van de Donk told Arsenal Player, “Joe [Montemurro] gave me a lot of trust. That’s the main thing. The communication between Joe and me is good and I like to be open with a manager.”
Arsenal are expected to announce two further additions to the squad from the Bundesliga in the coming weeks.
So happy that Danielle van de Donk has extended. Love watching her play. Never thought she would be good in a box to box role but she is amazing.
Good news
