Jeff Reine-Adelaide has certainly endured his fair share of misfortune with injuries since joining Arsenal almost three years ago and the youngster has received yet another setback on that front.
Having shown some encouraging signs while on loan at Angers in the second half of the season, Reine-Adelaide was preparing to represent France at the Toulon Tournament, one of the most prestigious youth competitions.
The Arsenal youngster was named in France’s initial squad but subsequently had to withdraw after injury struck yet again.
It isn’t currently clear how serious the problem is, and it is hoped that the 20-year-old will be able to play a full part in pre-season, but he is becoming concerning injury prone.
Reine-Adelaide made nine appearances in Ligue 1 during his time at Angers and demonstrated his versatility as he gained playing time on the right wing, while on other occasions he featured as a central midfielder.
The prospect is a very clever user of the ball and he is capable of playing short, snappy passes with regularity, while he can glide past opponents with ease and is also now rather stronger physically.
However, if he is to truly succeed at Arsenal then Reine-Adelaide needs to start adding more consistency to his game and if his injury problems persist then it will be difficult for him to fulfill that objective.
Despite the quality that he possesses, Reine-Adelaide still has some work to do in order to establish himself as a regular in the Arsenal first-team, although he will aim to use pre-season to make a positive impression.
If Reine-Adelaide can somehow get over his injury struggles then there is a chance that he could go on to carve out a successful career at Arsenal but at present whenever he seems to be taking a step forwards his progress grinds to a frustrating halt.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Reine-Adelaide was sent out on loan again next season so that he can develop further but, wherever he is playing, staying fit will be his main priority as he looks to start to fulfill his vast potential.

Amazing prospect this boy. Has all the attributes of a complete midfielder, wether physically or mentally.
I hope he can get over his injury issues, because him, Willock and Ainsley seem like an incredible future midfield 3. They are all great in both the defensive and attacking facets of the game.
I hope he does not become another Diaby.
There is a fantastic player lurking in there. He ought to be in the frame like Mbappe, Martial, Lemar and Leroy Sane. Arsenal need to keep him healthy on a special progamme if he is to succeed. Injuries are part of the game but all should be done to facilitate his maturity. Apart from talent plus looking physically more mature, the youngsters that succeed are rarely out injured for extended periods. Let’s hope Le Jeff can crack the first team coming Season.

Never going to happen in afraid. Maybe one will really establish themselves. No point being blindly optimistic. My money is on AMN to make it (I mean many years as an Arsenal starter) but i wouldn’t put a lot on it and I’m yet to be convinced that WIllock or Jeff will transfer their undoubted talent to the highest level. I just doesn’t work out like that often, not even for out most prodigious talents
No point being pessimistic either. I know how football works. Call me naive, but I believe and continue to do so if it relates to football.
