Arsenal Women have announced the signing of Lyon goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin to provide competition for Sari van Veenendaal in the Arsenal goal, confirming our story from last week when Anna Moorhouse left the club. Peyraud-Magnin joined Lyon last summer for a second spell at the club having spent six years there earlier in her career. She has also played for Issy, St. Etienne and Marseilles.
Pauline is 26 and is expected to provide back-up for number 1 keeper Sari van Veenendaal. Peyraud-Magnin arrived in London last week to complete the deal, Anna Moorhouse’s departure to West Ham United was announced a day after the ex-Lyon stopper travelled to London Colney. Pauline won a Champions League medal with Lyon this year, but only played one game in the competition.
She joins fellow summer signings Viki Schnaderbeck, Lia Wälti and Tabea Kemme. Gunners boss Joe Montemurro told Arsenal.com, “Pauline has experienced playing against some of the best female footballers in the world. She has formed part of a squad who won three Women’s Champions League trophies and three domestic titles. As a young player, that is a huge achievement that says a lot about the quality of her skills and attributes as a goalkeeper.”
Peyraud-Magnin will take the number 18 shirt. Meanwhile, Lisa Evans moves from 18 to 17 and Jess Samuelsson from 25 to 12. Young defender Shannon Cooke left the club last week to join Louisiana State University.

Good. I almost thought I won’t get my daily transfer pill from doc Arsenal today.
Welcome to the Arsenal, Pauline.
Good to see more information about our women’s team as well these days. Keep up the good work Mr. Stillman! 🙂
IT seems like the women’s team is getting some investment too
I was getting a bit concerned about our team because it seemed that Man City and Chelsea were pulling further away from us. I’m glad to see that we are once again investing in our team. I take the women’s game as seriously as the men’s
Hopefully she wont spend all her time on the beach.
