Tyreece John-Jules has frequently managed to find the net for Arsenal at youth level, and the striker has also been in impressive form for England U18s during the international break.
John-Jules scored a penalty as England drew 2-2 with Holland and then proceeded to hit a brace in the 3-1 victory against the Republic of Ireland, with the prospect hoping to get on the scoresheet again in today’s match against Belgium.
Going into this season John-Jules was already considered a fine talent, but he has improved even further in recent months, becoming stronger physically and more tactically aware.
Although his best position is certainly as a striker, John-Jules has spent much time playing out wide for Arsenal U23s of late, where he has benefitted from the tutelage of a former winger in Freddie Ljungberg.
As a consequence, John-Jules’ game is more varied in terms of the runs he makes and the positions that he picks up, while he is also more alert defensively and frequently tracks back to help his team.
His exploits during this international break should provide John-Jules with another confidence boost, and the fact that he is already an important player for Arsenal at U23 level despite still being eligible for the U18s in indicative of the quality that he possesses.
John-Jules must continue to work hard and improve even further as he looks to succeed at Arsenal but he is certainly heading in the right direction.
In the Checkatrade Trophy this season John-Jules has been especially impressive, scoring two goals and providing three assists in three appearances.
He may have gone five games without scoring for the U23s, but, following his morale-boosting involvement with England, John-Jules will be looking to bring that sequence to an end when Arsenal face Derby County away next week.

A Jewel is John.
Another double-barrelled legend. We’re gonna be choc-a-bloc with double-barrelled names, maybe we can use it as a way to submit and field 22 players on the pitch.
In general, English football has some really promising players at youth levels and Arsenal in particular seem to have some players who could potentially make, and establish themselves in the first team- Amaechi, John-Jules, Saka, Coyle, Balogun, Smith Rowe, Osei-Tutu, plus AMN, Willock, and of course, Nketiah. I’m pretty sure there are more precocious talents who will come to the fore as they move up in the age groups. Really exciting times for English football, and for Arsenal in particular.
And Reiss Nelson
How could i have forgotten the crown jewel?! And Reiss Nelson
One to watch. Particularly with Brexit looming, we will need to develop from inhouse better.
Plus, what’s with this International Break Nations Cup nonsense?
Its really ruining the season.
All the added games will have a toll on the squads, particularly the ones with International players.
We’re lucky we haven’t been our injury prone selves thus far.
look on the bright side, we only have one England player
Fun fact: nephew to Danny John-Jules.
