Arsenal take on Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon.
Following three consecutive pre-Interlull draws in the league, we’re in need of a win to close the gap on the top four.
Here’s how Unai Emery sets up his team today…it’s not what we were expecting!
Bournemouth: Begovic, Daniels, Ake, S Cook, Francis, Fraser, Lerma, Gosling, Brooks, King, Wilson
Subs: Boruc, Mings, Surman, L Cook, Stanislas, Mousset, Defoe
__
Arsenal: Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Mustafi, Holding, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Iwobi, Aubameyang
Subs: Cech, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Ramsey, Ozil, Guendouzi, Nketiah
Good strength on the bench
Coyg!
3 at the back compensates kolasinac’s defensive vulnerability
its no good on the bench, we want it on the pitch
I love Emery, and I’ll say it again
“Ozil will be moved on at the earliest opportunity”
we can only hope, everything is crossed
Rich and Afan still obsessed with Ozil even when he’s not playing. Emery appreciates class and creativity and he will certainly not sell him
Seems more likely by the minute.
A 343 doesn’t really cater for a number 10.
Dream on mate… if he can’t accommodate Ozil, Emery will be moved on ?
@MrT spot on
Very bitter Rich
It’s great, a manager that doesn’t give a fuck about Diva’s. The complete opposite of what Wenger became towards the end of his tenure.
This is weird..
It’s exciting, Emery is a brave manager who’s certainly willing to throw a curve ball.
Last time he tried this in the Europa league it lasted 45 minutes.
But this could be a system where we can get bothLacazette+ Aubameyang into the starting 11 together.
But will leave no room for Ozil.
How does it allow Laca and Aubameyang any more than a 4321. One of them would still be ‘out wide’ in a 343. Unless you mean both up top but then that would accomadate ozil just fine
Give up Rich. There will always be a place for our most creative player
Is Lacazette injured or being protected for the NLD..?
Clearly injured, otherwise he’d be on the bench.
Interesting to see him go effectively three in the back with Kolasinac and Bellerin as the wide runners. Hopefully knowing he will lead the line all game with help Aubameyang get back on the scoresheet.
pleased ozil has been dropped, but surprised ramsey is not playing and that Mkhitaryan is, im not sure if this team is strong enough or not
T be fair I’d be inclined to put Ozil where Mkhi is, but that’s just me. To be fair Bellerin and Mkhi armed to have a good partnership so hopefully they will click again.
Whatever the case COYG, it’s about time we got a win. Can’t afford to lose ground on top 4, and good to put some space between us and the lesser clubs below us
Seems that you are the only one pleased…
You are completely football ignorate
COYG
Good to see Mkhitaryan playing more centrally. Looks lost out on the wings. Also 3 at the back compensates for Kolasinac’s recent defensive vulnerabilities
He’s playing on the wing in a 343 innit?
The nose knows.
There’s no creativity in the middle of the pitch with this lineup. That’s why I am not a big fan of this, let alone leaving out Ozil.
No Ramsey in the starting eleven either. Im not sure who will provide the assists or killer passes.
Maybe Emery is trying to keep us wide and win with crosses and headers. Well, that and a pacey counterattack is certainly what Aubamayang is good at.
Very interested to see how this will pan out todaay…
I’m not going to lie. This lineup concerns me but what do I know.
Planning to watch only the 2nd half
Hopefully this lineup is Dickie being proactive and designed to nullify Bournemouth and their strengths. If that is the case, it is more about Ozil not suiting the system for this particular game rather than being dropped.
Mki needs a good game, his confidence looks shot at the moment
5 at the back? No Ozil either, who creates chances in this team?
Oh how I wish this starting line up proves me wrong
Kolasinac is dreadful defensively
You didn’t need your forth word mate.
*fourth
You don’t get into the bundesliga team of the year being dreadful. He’s had some injuries and needs a run in the side for confidence and form
He has been bad defensively since he got to Arsenal. A lot of fans got carried away by his early goal scoring form and didn’t pay attention to him as a defender. His defensive positional play is shocking for a school boy, let alone a professional footballer
So the man voted the best left back in the Bundesliga is no better than a schoolboy?
Ozil on for mkhi please. This is a game we absolutely should win.
Mikityran has to be like the worst player in the first team right now!
