Good news. Hector Bellerin’s calf problem may not be too serious after all.
The Spaniard, who sat out last night’s Carabao Cup game with Sp*rs, has been spotted in training ahead of Saturday’s game with Burnley…via a picture on the boss’ Twitter feed.
Our roving right-back was forced off at half time of last weekend’s defeat to Southampton leading Unai Emery to predict he could miss a couple of weeks.
We’ll wait for the medical team to give their usual pre-game fitness bulletin, but we’re assuming he must be in with a chance of playing against the Clarets.
We were all disappointed after the game. Today we just keep together and focused on celebrating Christmas the best way with all our @Arsenal family. Starting from now at Colney and from Saturday at the Emirates. Come on you Reds! pic.twitter.com/zjHadQQFK2

Shkodran Mustafi also seems to have returned to training which means his dicky hamstring is on the mend. The German limped off during the Premier League win over Huddersfield 12 days ago.
UPDATE – Apologies everyone, it turns out the picture that was used to illustrate Emery’s tweet was actually taken two weeks ago. Unfortunately, we’ve ballsed up here. The medical team have today confirmed that Bellerin is out for two more weeks and Mustafi will return to training next week. We’ve given ourselves a slap on the wrist.
Praise the Lord
Praise Dennis, indeed!
Hallelujah!!!
This is an old picture.
If it’s true it’s an old picture it would be the first time I’d feel let down by this site!
Why would you be let down by the site? The pic is off Emery’s Twitter page, not from Blogs himself…
This picture is from two weeks ago…

Good spot! Well let’s hope that they are training all the same. Like them or not, we have to make do with who we have for now let’s hope they all come back fit.
Bad spot! Bad, Bad spot!
Well, good spot, bad result.
If it’s true it’s a big Christmas gift. We can do with defensive reinforcements during this hectic festive season schedule.
Great news. I feared bellerin would be out longer so I’m really relieved. Let’s kick start a longer unbeaten run…… Coyg
Cud Unai be a lucky manager?
Let’s shaggin hope so!
Yes, book it. As that old nebulous adage goes, “better to be lucky than good”!
Great news. Just being able to play Xhaka in midfield again will be a huge boost.
Whether they will be fully fit for the weekend is another issue. We cannot afford to drop any more points and we need to get back on track now. Koscielny may be somewhat excused for being a bit rusty but frankly last two games, he has been a bit of a liability. n Nor has playing Granit in the back line entirely helped us. Not that he has done particularly poorly but we need him in the engine room next to Torreira. Again no one (Not even Torreira) had the presence of mind to track Alli and Koscielny needed to… Read more »
With regard the weekend, I was surprised Emery went so GungHo against Spurts for the piddly Carabao cup. I suppose he was right to take any encounter with the pale shadows seriously but will we pay the price for playing first choice assets instead of resting them for the weekend? This given we have slid away from the advance made since beating the Spurts not very long ago. Defensively IF Mustafi makes it back in to pair with Sokratis, this will be a big plus. Likely we may revert to a back 4 given paucity of assets at Cback. Also… Read more »
