Arsenal have confirmed the travelling squad for tomorrow’s Europa League clash with Vitoria.
The team set off for Portugal today without Granit Xhaka, who remains sidelined after his meltdown against Crystal Palace, while David Luiz, Mesut Ozil, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been left behind ahead of Saturday’s Premier League encounter with Leicester City.
The full squad is:
Keepers: Bernd Leno, Emi Martinez
Defenders: Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney, Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding, Calum Chambers, Sead Kolasinac.
Midfielders: Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Lucas Torriera, Dani Ceballos, Matteo Guendouzi, Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka
Forwards: Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli
Remember, this game kicks off tomorrow at 15.50 UK time.
It’s an awkward time for many due to work etc, so if you are stuck and can’t see the game, remember you can follow all the action on the Arseblog live blog.
I am so glad, Ozil didn’t travel. May be when a new coach arrive he Will still be fresh for our run to top four because I liked what I saw from Ozil in our last couple of games.
Believe me I am fasting for Emery to be sacked before the end of the month.
Fair play on most of your comment, however I do see Ozil not playing through the week so he can play the weekend. Or just me?
The club has striped Xhaka of the Captaincy. Mixed feelings though, I didn’t want him as captain because he ll be a regular starter but don’t like how the stripping thing happened.
Why because it took too long?
Emery next (and soon hopefully), so decisiveness at The Arsenal would be a refreshing change.
Why, you don’t like stripping Almond? 🙂
The more I think on it the more I’m rounding to the idea of Patrick Viera – the man, the legend as Arsenal manager. For mine the two biggest things we need from a manager right now are: (1) Discipline, respect and player management. For too long (under Wenger’s waning years and now under Emery) it’s been too easy for Arsenal players – win lose or draw there is and has been so little accountability (IMO that is a lot of why the crowd is starting to sound off on some of the players – the managers we’ve had certainly… Read more »
The spine of the game against Leicester kept fresh?
I hope Pepe doesn’t play the full game tomorrow and starts against Leicester.
Other than that looking forward to the usual EL team entertaining and getting the result.
Going to have to take the worlds longest poo break at work tomorrow so I can actually watch this game on my phone…
How about cupping your hand to your ear and telling your boss & customers to FCUK OFF!!! as you slowly walk out of work to watch the game.
Whats the worst that can happen? Counselling with paid leave?
This is such a great comparison.
You forgot to take off your work shirt. You would be given 4 days to write a non apology.Blame the voices around you and if people thought that you were somehow disrespectful you would feel sorry for them being wrong Then ask for respect.
Best comment of the week mate.
I just can’t stop laughing to this comment LOL
2:50am kickoff for me. The things we do eh..
Im hearin ya! Might get up at 6am and watch the replay before poppin into work I think.
7:50 am for me … I can watch the first half on the train and hopefully the boss will believe I need a 45 minute bathroom break right after I walk in the door …
After the match, you’ll need to get back to us with the poo-meter score, and if VAR chalked off any points.
I guess tomorrow’s game will give us locals a taste of what it’s like to follow games from across the Atlantic. I can’t imagine many of us will be able to watch it. Stupid UEFA ☹️
Have you guys seen slavia prague play??? Damn wish we could play like them.
No. Barca are just trash peak Barcelona would have thrashed then 6 nil.
They’re pretty impressive! Really well coached!
I want us to win, secure qualification as group leaders so we can concentrate on “getting a new coach” I meant concentrate on the the weekend match.
Gabi
Saka / Willock / Reiss-Nelson
AMN / Torreira
Kola / Mustafi + Holding / Bellerin
Emi
Xhaka to be reintroduced at Leicester? Could see the Laca, Ozil, Pepe, Auba combo up front then…
Hate to be pedantic….but can we try and avoid the Harry Redknappisms…Lucas TorrEIra please guys
Put your hand down Farmer
Did you say Traore????
Bellerin must play against Leicester!!!
Why are we playing on Wednesday night?
Any word on ESR?
Was hoping to see more of him now..
He played for the U23’s last Friday.
Great to see we left Emery at home
It’s just ben announced on the BBC that Granit is no longer Arsenal captain; it’s now Auba!
Speaking of Coaches being fired I guess Barca coach Ernesto Valverde will be next After Niko Kovac, the guy drew blanks at Nou Camp against Slavia Praha With Messi, Dembele and Griezman leading the line, I mean Slavia Praha for Godsake. That coming 2days after being thrashed 3:1 at Levante, are there any good coaches Left..!?
Arsene Wenger.
I have to say, it would be pretty fun to see Wenger take over at Barca and try to work some magic with Messi & Co. I mean, those would be fun games to watch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when we’re not playing, at least.
Arsenal U21 are playing today but I don’t See Florian Balogun, any word! Is he injured.? The kid can score, 7 goals from 9 apps for the U23 team and he is just 18 that is just wild.
I want to know because him and Tyrese John Jules are the Players showing some promise.
Balogun injured his ankle in training, he’s out for 2 months.
Hope not another Smith Rowe Case.
Why no Smith Rowe? He’s supposed to be healthy.
