U could tell the difference between the two managers. In the 2nd water break, going 2 – 1 up Arteta still giving out instructions while Fat Lampard had nothing to say to his players. Seemed like he just didnt wanna b there always shying away towards the dugout. Man, you are 2 -1 down in the FA cup final and your players are struggling…even I could probably yell and say something coherent!
I don’t think we need to be too cruel to Lampard. He’s never bothered me as a player and I quite like his style as a manager and he’s done a fantastic job with little or no help. I mean, we can criticise our defence but did you see those three he put out on Saturday? Over the hill, under the hill and as tall as a hill.
Plus, what’s not to say that Lampard’s success didn’t contribute to the boards decision to give a young, club legend a go at Arsenal too?
I don’t think it is being cruel. I like Lampard and respect what he has done as a player and as a manager but I noticed the difference between the two managers during the game. Arteta looks like a great leader and I am proud of him. Fair play to Lampard for what he has achieved but I would much rather have Arteta.
I dont respect anything he’s done. He was always overrated…a master of deflected goals taking advantage of being surrounded by worldclass players bought by a Sugar Daddy money. As soon as he was in England set up, he sucked balls. And on top of that, he is a whiny little cunt…everytime shit goes wrong he starts to whine. When Leeds got caught spying derby matches..before the game he was saying it didnt matter. As soon as his team lost the next day, he started moaning and blamed spying for the loss. Hypocritical fuck! And now he is asking for an… Read more »
Lampard just complained about the new season starting too soon for Chelshit blah blah blah… Aren’t all PL teams subject to the same schedules? What makes him so special to go mouthing off? Crybaby!

Why did Arteta get carded? It wasn’t shown on the coverage I was watching – so I never found out what the rationale was.
From that video I would guess for not staying in his area. At one point he was on the pitch, desperate to play himself i imagine.
Barney Roney in the Guardian today talked about Arteta tearing up the touchline to give instructions to AMN, I thought that sounded odd, after seeing this i get it.
It’s instructive to see in this video that Luiz and Xhaka are the defacto leaders in this team. Notice how Arteta always passes instructions through them at any given opportunity.
I think I now see why he was intent on keeping both despite all the negativity from fans
7:28 min yellow card moment – ball out for throw, our handsome boss helping to grab the ball, Rudiger pushed/barged into him and Arteta is just standing up for himself. Bellerin came running to back up. 97 min – We won our 14th FA cup, justice prevails.

Fantastic stuff. What an absolute pillock Lampard is. Arteta is the man; if the board don’t get behind this guy now, then this club is truly beyond hope, because Arteta has proved now beyond all doubt that he is the man to take us forward (see what I did there) out of this mess. BTW, Blogs, further to your (always brilliant) post this morning, wasn’t George Graham the first Arsenal person to win the FA Cup as a player and a manager in 1971 and 1993, respectively? (To this day, apparently, old George still won’t have anyone tell him that… Read more »

Interesting to see his muted celebration with Kolasinac in between embracing Xhaka and Torreira. It’s those sorts of things you don’t get to see on TV.

I love how Arteta is constantly on the pitch. You don’t usually see the passion on the TV broadcast.

Fascinating !

And classy saying to Freddie to have a good night.
I agree with the contrast but it shows Arteta looks the more able of the two.

Got to a fight with rudiger?

When is Mikkel?
Oh.. He’s on it right now!!
Wonderful ‘Dark’ reference ?
