Confirmed: Millwall sign Ballard on loan

Milwall have confirmed that Daniel Ballard has signed for them on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international was much in demand after helping Blackpool earn promotion to the Championship.

The Seasiders, for whom he played 30 times last season, had wanted to retain the player’s services but the youngster has opted for a new challenge at The Den.

Ballard has previously spent time at Swindon.

Best of luck to him at The Den.

Good luck to him.
(Though I am slightly disturbed by his “beard-but-no-moustache” look..)

That’s strange. I don’t know if you’re a man or woman but some guys struggle to grow facial hair even after finishing puberty. Maybe that’s the case here

Or he might prefer it that way and finds it convenient. Moustache hairs seem to be more fragile than the beard hairs and can start shedding into your food if not waxed.

Or maybe he has a lady-friend who doesn’t like the stache. In my experience, some girls don’t like the prickly texture and some prefer it.

Who knows.

It’s this kind of top level analysis I cone to Arseblog for

By all accounts he had an excellent season at Blackpool.

If he does the same again in the Championship, then we should try to integrate him into the squad for 2022/23.

I can see why people say ‘it’s hard to advance as a Central Defender at Arsenal given….’ But equally, we’ve produced the likes of Adams and Keown in the past, so there’s not reason we can’t do the same in the future.

let’s hope his beard is fully grown by 2022/23

I agree. This is one of our best CB prospects in years. He wouldn’t already be playing senior international football if he didn’t have talent. Hopefully there is a future for him at the club.

Millwall can be quite an unforgiving place, even the staff members at the Den can be cold and harsh (in my experience). Hopefully this was the right decision.

….Millwall 🙁
Most of my extended family are Millwall fans which is odd as they’re actually really nice.
