Very simple, he has been poor so far this season and doesn’t deserve to be in first 11. Let’s hope he improves.
By my count he’s been pushed around 3 different positions. One minutes he’s no 10 the next he’s an 8, the other he’s a left center mid. Not exactly easy to find any form like that.
He also had that stomach bug didn’t he? Could be a contributing factor to him not starting today

Possibly a hybrid 4-4-2 where Saka and ESR are more suited to the wide areas than Odegaard?
Or, on the flip, Laca has shown good form and helped the team kick on – no doubt odegaard will get 20-30 mins – fingers crossed he’ll make them count.
Don’t know that there’s much of a deal, I think it’s a ‘if it ain’t broke’ situation, laca deserves his place imo, odegaard hasn’t been brilliant when he’s played and laca’s intensity and drive has been so good to watch. 4-4-fuckin’-2!!
When Klopp selects Keita, Fabinho and Milner nobody asks what the big deal with Henderson is and he’s the captain. Nobody asks why Thiago is benched thrice. At Arsenal we are used to starters, immediate subs and who should be sold sadly
