Arsenal Women’s WSL game with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday has been postponed due to covid-19. A statement on the Arsenal website read, “We can confirm that Sunday’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion at Meadow Park has been postponed.
“The decision has been made by the FA following ongoing Covid issues. A revised date for the fixture in the New Year will be announced in due course.”
Chelsea’s game against West Ham and Manchester City’s against Reading were postponed earlier today with covid cases rising rapidly in the UK. The WSL now goes on a winter break with Arsenal’s next game away at Birmingham City on Sunday, 9th January.
Sensible
No surprise after the Chelski postponement.
Rest well girls. Its been a tough December.
Merry Christmas Gooners.
And at least they have sensible notice, not last minute madness

Yeah “consistency” seems to be a word missing from the FA rule book.
In the AWFC message the postponement appears to have been instigated by the FA because of “ongoing covid issues”. There are ongoing covid issues EVERYWHERE!

Just seen that Chelski(men) have had their postponement request to the EPL turned down yet even game yesterday barring our’s at Leeds bit the dust.
The statement is like that cos both clubs have a policy of not revealing issues like covid publicly, so they’ve both worded it like that so as not to reveal where the cases are and who requested the postponement.
In the great scheme of things I don’t suppose it matters a toss. The game didn’t take place. End of.
Although, as far as the WSL is concerned, I can’t help feeling that if the likes of Chelski, Arsenal and Manks ask they are more likely to get than, say, Brum.
Had the thrill of seeing Kim Little in St Albans this morning but she looked like she would rather have been running on a pitch.
What’s the deal with Heath? What’s her latest injury? She’s been out now for, what, a month? Longer? It’s no different from her stint at ManU–injured and unavailable for most of the year.
