Arsenal prospects receive England youth callups

In addition to having four players in the latest England senior squad, Arsenal also have a significant amount of representation among the Three Lions’ youth selections.

At U21 level, for instance, Folarin Balogun is part of the squad that will take on Albania and Andorra in European Championship qualifiers. The striker has impressed recently while on loan at Middlesbrough and has scored once in four appearances so far for England U21s. He has also previously represented the United States, where he was born.

Another Arsenal loanee, Brooke Norton-Cuffy, is in the England U19 squad for games against the Republic of Ireland, Armenia and Portugal. A diligent defender who usually plays at right-back, Norton-Cuffy has earned rave reviews for his performances on loan at Lincoln City.

With regards to the England U18 squad, defender Reuell Walters has been included. Walters has established himself in the Arsenal U23 side at the age of 17, with the right-back performing well. He is also capable of operating as a centre-back in a three-man defence. Walters will be part of the England U18 side coached by Arsenal academy product Ryan Garry, with the team to play Sweden and Denmark.

Amario Cozier-Duberry, meanwhile, is in the England U17 squad for Elite Round fixtures against France and Luxembourg. A skilful prospect who can play as an attacking midfielder or out wide, he is one of the most talented youngsters at the club.

Overall, there are a host of youngsters who are hoping to eventually follow Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe into the England senior squad, and there are others who haven’t been called up on this occasion, such as Charlie Patino (who has just returned from injury), Miguel Azeez and Omari Hutchinson.

Where is Charlie Patino?

TeeCee

Just back from injury apparently.
I found this out by, er, reading the whole article. You should try doing that.

Q3 Technique

How is it possible that three of our most promising youth players have not been called up! Perhaps they need to be playing senior football…

Gunner J

Injuries, poor form from them or better form from the others who play in similar positions or perhaps a sensible manager leaving them out to get some rest after the minutes the youngsters have put in (hahaha).

Surprised Hutchinson wasn’t called up to u-19’s. He’s scored some fantastic goals this season. Hope he gets a loan move at start of next season.
