England manager Gareth Southgate has called up three Arsenal players to the squad for the upcoming internationals.
Ben White, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are all included for the games against Switzerland on March 26th and the Ivory Coast on March 29th.
The trio will face Gunners’ teammates Granit Xhaka and Nicolas Pepe, and fingers crossed there are no fatigue or injury issues to deal with.
This story could be a bit longer but we’ve decided brevity is key today so we’ll just leave it there.
ps – We know the picture is not a trio but just imagine Smith Rowe in there and it works fine.
pps – We can’t count. Aaron Ramsdale makes 4.
ppps – It’s Saint Patrick’s Day, leave us be.
Ramsdale?
Who?
Umm… Ramsdale?
Almost all our players are internationals now!
Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale, such a good business last summer. We bolstered our homegrown quota for years to come. Martinelli joined at 18 so he will be home grown too. Saliba joined at 18, another home-grown player (a bit unsure of this). Saka and Smith-Rowe made the step up from youth and saved us over a 100M pounds. It’s a good time to be a Gooner.
We have three international captains in our team!
Xhaka odegaard and partey?
Yes, though Partey is usually vice captain I gather.
I think Ayew, not Partey, is Ghana’s captain. Aubameyang is Gabon’s captain, maybe that’s what he’s thinking of.
Tierney has sometimes captained Scotland, although not that much.
No Ramsdale?
More fool Southgate.
See the PS.
👍😊
Great to see.
Off topic, but why does Piers Morgan support Arsenal. He is so fucking weird.
Probably saw us win the double in 1971 and became a fan then.
Speaking in defence of Wenger in 2015, former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson labelled Morgan an “incredibly pompous individual”
Accurately stated.
A proper gentleman Bob Wilson.
Anyone else would just have said he’s a twat.
Who cares?
The man is a Gooner.
Which makes him better than Phil Collins, the dirty spud.
Just think – as a kid, he was an extra in the 1964 Beatles film ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ – and Spurs still haven’t won the title since 1961. 😂
Fabulous to see four Arsenal players in a squad, a far cry from the dark days when only Oxlade Chamberlain got the call and that was just to warm the bench!
I see that Alexander-Arnold is in the squad. Luckily for him, England will not face Brazil.
Not a good thing. Martinelli is going to hear how great Barca and Real Madrid is from his team mates. I hope he does not get swayed.
