Why not give Pepe a start?

ThreadRipper

Well I expect them to defend really deep especially in second half. If we are still trying to win the game at that point, Pepe could be the key to that!

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Because Saka has been consistent all season.

Kostas

What a response from him today!

Zadok the Regular Priest

The game takes place all over the pitch, not just in the final third. We are where we are in the league through the implementation of a gameplan built around pressing and possession, picking our moments to score. Pepe is a goal threat, but he doesn’t fit into that template as well as Saka, Martinelli or Smith Rowe. The Wolves game was the perfect situation for Pepe to come in and do his stuff, but sometimes a good substitute performance is just a sign that a player is a good substitute, not that he should be starting. We’re doing well… Read more »

Massive game today. Make a statement time. If we do go one up. Please keep attacking and don’t try to defend it like at United and Everton.

Onenil

Sunday Roast? Three points and three pints with all the trimming please!

DefaultGray

Hugely missing ESR right now, this was his time to make a statement and guarantee a spot for Qatar, gutted he’s not getting it

Martin R

He is recovering from Covid and there is still plenty of time for him to justify a World Cup place

BongoGooner

Still hoping Qatar won’t happen, so not to worried about that

TallestTiz

Where is Rowe the Rover?

GraeB

COVID

Crash Fistfight

I thought the club said it wasn’t Covid against Wolves?

TeeCee

Aha, I can see a weakness in the Watford lineup. That 0-0-0 formation never works.

Portnoy

The ultimate offside trap!

Man Manny

ESR is a big miss; space is going to be at a premium in their final third, and his run and close control in tight spaces would have been essential.
3 points all the same; COYG!

Qwaliteee

Three points.

That’s all that matters.

Grimmjow

Would’ve preferred Pepe for Saka. Give him a rest for the game on Wednesday and let Pepe build on the last match.
The classic Pepe curler from the edge of the box would’ve done the magic.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

We’re not playing on Wednesday.

Grimmjow

My bad. Already into next week. Fair play then

BigArse

When you look at the bench, even without ESR/Tomiyaso, we do have some pretty decent options for each area of the pitch. Promising. COYG!

Russ

Think the kit man forgot the white shorts… 🤦‍♂️

Kostas

Come on! Let’s do this!

RockyRog58

Time to give Laca a rest ??

Great Kalu

This is the poorest I have seen Gab and Ben White play in a long time. I can’t figure out why

Gutbukkit Deffrolla

What this article didn’t say was that Arteta would get a pre-assist
