Bukayo Saka has been crowned Arsenal’s Player of the Season for 2021/22.
The England international secure 58% of the public vote to beat Martin Odegaard (22%) and Aaron Ramsdale (11%) who came second and third respectively.
Saka was the only member of Mikel Arteta’s squad to feature in every Premier League game. In total he played 3,359 minutes across 43 appearances, scoring 12 goals and making 7 assists.
Despite missing his spot-kick in the final of the European Championships to hand victory to Italy over England, the player never looked phased by last summer’s disappointment.
As Arsenal battled a personnel crisis in the early weeks of the season, the player was thrust into action off the back of little rest and was immediately greeted by supportive cheers from opposition fans. He fed off that enthusiasm to post the best numbers of his fledgling career.
In addition to being voted the Gunners’ Player of the Season, Saka has also been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Season, Premier League Player of the Season and Premier League Young Player of the Season.
At 20-years-old, Saka has already established himself as one of Europe’s most valuable players upping the ante on Arsenal to pin down the number 7 to a new contract.
While there are no immediate concerns that he could be lured away from Emirates Stadium – his current deal ends in 2024 – rivals are starting to circle and will be capable of offering more money and Champions League football.
The poster boy of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal rebuild, it would be a serious blow to lose him, so we’re sure the club will pull out all the stops to give him what he deserves.
Congratulations to Bukayo on a very impressive season. Here’s to more of those in the red and white…
Bukayo, sign all da tings
I’m not worried about losing him to another club. Besides Man city, Liverpool and Real Madrid, there are no clubs with a more exciting project than Arsenal right now. If we give him a healthy pay rise, and continue signing players that improve us, I’m sure he’ll stay.
I wouldn’t call Man City “an exciting project”.
Yup. Nothing exciting about building the world’s most expensive bench.
Exactly. How many trees has Jack Grealish pulled up lately?
They’ve actually become more boring than Liverpool in the 80’s, winning almost every game 1-0 with an 89th minute Ian Rush penalty.
They scored 99 goals last season. We scored 61. If they’re boring, what the hell are we? Also, would you like to double check that “winning almost every game 1-0” bit? How many games did they actually win 1-0 last season? I’m guessing if I checked the stats, you’re going to look a little bit silly. No offense. Don’t think we need to downplay how good a team City are, let’s just get on with our project, hopefully we’ll be even better than them one day without having a bank account the size of the moon.
Oh dear.
Re-read what I’ve written. I said that City are now more boring than Liverpool were in the 80’s when they (LIVERPOOL) won a lot of games 1-0 with an 89th minute penalty by Ian Rush. Since when the fuck has Ian Rush played for Man City….?!!
If you’re going to criticise someone’s post, at least learn the art of comprehension first. 😉
And City are boring. They and their brand of football should be sponsored by Horlicks.
An embarrassing lack of comprehension. Q was saying that City are actually more boring than Liverpool were in the 80’s when they indeed won a lot of games 1-0? He was talking about Liverpool winning games 1-0 back then, not City now! Duh!
City play good football but its boring when they win the league
On our day, we’re better than them now. New Year’s Day, we ripped them a new arse. It just so happened that the ref and VAR were against us – as usual.
Man City boring..really?
That just sounds silly
Their football is boring. Even Blogs reckons as much.
Still, I guess it all depends at what level your understanding of the game is.
Doesn’t sound silly to me. No matter how many goals they score, Manchester City’s bland football could find a cure for insomnia.
Well, go and support them then.
Well luckily for us, Bukayo is a bigger Arsenal fan than some of y’all on here. Can’t moan all season, then moan all summer, guys. At some point you have to back the team and bet on them.
I was commenting City’s project, not sure where you found “moaning”….
No surprise there as this was fully deserved. Let’s hope we build a strong team around him with good signings. Otherwise, I am worried about other clubs turning his head. A player of his quality won’t keep settling for 5th or even 2nd for much longer.
Blind fan’s view of things. Can’t blame you. This is why we are fans.
I wouldn’t mind going to Liverpool to replace Salah once he leaves/retires.
You personally going to Liverpool to replace Salah?
We can all get behind that!
Congratulations Bukayo Saka, and keep up the good work.
Well done, Bukayo. He’s our talisman. Here’s hoping the higher ups can tie him down to a new contract soon.
who is downvoting this? please piss off thanks
Spurs fans
Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola so far.
Fully deserved
Kindest young man alive. Congrats, Bukayo!
So deserved, here’s hoping for many seasons to come in the red & white
He could win this trophy for 10 years in a row!
Then we would have a new Mr Arsenal!
His second in a row. He has been our top man this season, and was very well deserved.
Very well deserved too. He’s one of our own.
Dear City, Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, PSG, Real etc etc etc.
Take your money and fuck off. He’s staying here. Period.
Sincerely yours

Good season for Saka.
I hope Emile Smith Rowe will also hit more impressive heights next season.
He needs to go to the gym more.
Hope Nelson, the academy genius, will find his mojo and hit impressive heights as the other two.
Well, that’s a shocker I never saw coming!
Well deserved. Hopefully continues to develop at Arsenal for many years.
I recently saw that Saka was the highest ranked Arsenal player in the latest CIES Football Observatory top 100 estimated transfer values for players worldwide.
Whilst Saka was not too surprising, I was pleased to see that out of 14 Attacking Midfielders on the list, 3 were Arsenal players – Saka, ESR and Odegaard.
If the right striker comes in, and we don’t loose players, the attack is certainly looking good for the foreseeable future.
Surprise!
In the most recent Arsecast, Blogs suggested that Saka was the player he thought would improve the most next season. And that makes perfect sense, considering how young he still is, how short a time he has been playing senior football (a long time for his age, but a very short time absolutely), and how he seems the kind of person who really enjoys his work. So, our best player might also get much better! (I personally think Smith Rowe will improve the most. I am convinced he has been carrying an injury–or even more likely, never quite recovered from… Read more »
I don’t think I’ve loved a player so much since Thierry in his prime for us. ❤️
He’s infectious that’s for sure! I also loved Cesc until I didn’t, Wilshere will always be there, and purely from a football perspective nobody was better to watch than Santi. I could watch videos of him playing with both feet, so smooth all day long
When do they give the awards? Every article says nominated.
Everything is shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
We should be paying Saka what ever it takes to keep him. He is our best and most important player. What would a player of his talent cost in the market and would such a player even be accessible to us? To me giving him 200k per week is a bargain. I wouldn’t even wince at 300k pw. When the other players come calling for those wages we cab just tell them to win the player of the season twice, first!
I hope he signs and then in the WC refuses to pass to the mongoloid England captain but scores 15 goals en route to world title. Then Kane has a botched hair transplant surgery giving him the hair of Rene Higuita and he retires from football
Never mind, he doesn’t deserve Higuitas resplendent hair. Let’s go with Ronaldo’s hair at 2000 WC
And Spurs get relegated and Son breaks both legs.
Congrats, Saka. Continue to soar to greater heights.
