It has been confirmed that Bundesliga side VfL Bochum have signed Jordi Osei-Tutu on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old defender leaves the Gunners after seven years having endured a series of injuries that have hindered his development, as well as recent loan spells with Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City.
He had more luck in the second half of last season at Rotherham, playing 14 times as they secured automatic promotion to the Championship.
Osei-Tutu is no stranger to Bochum. He spent the 2019/20 season on loan with the club when they were in Germany’s second tier and made 22 appearances, scoring five goals and making three assists.
Best of luck to Jordi, hopefully, he can stay fit and enjoy a fruitful career. He certainly has the potential.

Is it a free transfer or was there a fee? There’s a few of these moves for younger players that can bring in a few million. Daniel Ballard is the other notable one. I had expected Tyrece John-Jules to perhaps go permanently this window too. I think he’s one of those who is too good for reserves but not enough for the first team.
Remember we got £10 million for Bielik and everyone was saying selling him was a mistake. Given he’s not set the world alight it looks like good business now.

Every little helps. I remember OseiTutu being marked as one of the stand out players to keep an eye on. Luck and injuries play such a huge roll in a young players career.
I’d be interested to know the terms. The deal for Ballard seems sensible with buy back options.
