Four Arsenal players have Euro 2022 winners medals around their necks this morning. Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Nikita Parris were part of the England side who won the tournament on home soil.
Goals from Ella Toone and Arsenal academy graduate Chloe Kelly gave England a 2-1 final win in front of a sold out Wembley Stadium. Leah Williamson captained England to glory, playing every minute of the tournament in the process.

Meanwhile, Arsenal forward Beth Mead won the player of the tournament gong, as well as taking home the Golden Boot having scored six goals at the Championships. Mead was tied with Germany’s Alexandra Popp for goals but her five assists on top meant that she took the prize. Mead’s five assists was the most at the tournament.

Overall, Arsenal’s goal contributions in the tournament looked like this
Beth Mead- 5
Stina Blackstenius- 1
Frida Maanum- 1
If you have enjoyed the tournament, remember that Arsenal has the most decorated women’s team in the country and having lost out on the WSL title by one point last season, small margins will make all the difference again in 2022-23- and that includes a big, engaged crowd!
We cover every single Arsenal Women game in person here on Arseblog News with match previews, tactical match breakdowns, we speak to the coach Jonas Eidevall twice a week, we have exclusive player interviews and we release two podcasts a month dedicated to the women’s team. If you aren’t already, get involved!
Well done girjs
11 goal involvements for Meado, no?
Beth Mead, Arsenal legend!!!
Fantastic game. England were outplayed for most of it, but Williamson kept thing tight enough at the back that Germany got just the one fine goal. Then, when it seemed as though England would not be able to break the press, Williamson carried the ball past the first line of pressing attackers several times to advance the ball into enemy territory, which was huge. Woman of the match for sure.
Congratulations to Arsenal women’s participants and England in general. They made the country proud
Massive congrats to one and all. 🏴🏆⚽️
I’m proud of Meado. She’s been through a lot the past year, both professionally(Hege Riise basically calling her shit) & privately(her relationship with DVD breaking down) so thank you to both Hege & Dan for lighting that fire under her & bringing out the best Beth Mead possible. Hopefully she can take her form into the new season again. As Wrighty said yesterday, the Beth Mead Revenge Tour is over
An illustration of the principle that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, I suppose.
🎶 Beth Mead’s on fire! Your defence is terrified 🎶
Congratulations to the girls, job well done!
Congratulations Beth. Now that’s what you call a baller…
