Charlie Patino had got off to an encouraging start on loan at Blackpool before an ankle injury stopped him in his tracks.
It has since emerged that the midfielder could be out for a month, which isn’t as long as had been feared.
Although it is a shame for Patino’s progress to be halted when he had started to establish himself at Blackpool, there is still plenty of time for him to make an impact this season.
Patino has developed very well in the last year. His technical ability has always been intact, but he now appears to be stronger physically and more aware tactically.
The decision to send him on loan to a Championship club certainly seems to be the correct one and will surely benefit him more than a few appearances in the Europa League.
Arsenal have already sent eleven academy players out on loan this summer and it is likely that the figure will increase significantly before the closure of the transfer window.
Miguel Azeez is one player who could fall into that category, although it is possible that he could remain with Arsenal for the first half of the season.
Azeez has been one of the standout performers for the U21s in the early stages of this campaign and it will be intriguing to see what the next step is in his development.

Thank god it’s only a month. Have high hopes on him!
Just don’t break him.
Big shame that he got injured so early in the season on loan, especially as he’s fast becoming fan favourite over there.
I wish you quick recovery Charlie, I wish you come back stronger and smash the Championship, then come back home and set the Premier League ablaze.
Azeez!!!!
I nearly forgot about him.
Some talent as well as Charlie
Azeez got some mop-up minutes in a League Cup match year before last. Even then he looked like he belonged on the pitch with the regulars. Quite silky. He’s since put on some muscle too.
These kinds of injuries can derail a loan for young players. Good thing it’s just a month. He’s made an impact so he should be quickly back into their team.
