Monza are facing stiff competition from Hellas Verona for the signature of Pablo Mari, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Monza, newly promoted to Serie A for the first time in their history, want the Spaniard on loan (with an obligation to purchase him if they avoid relegation) while Verona are keen to buy him outright this summer.
Presumably, Arsenal, who are happy for him to leave, would prefer the latter but the player will be the one to decide his fate.
Arsenal have received a new bid for Pablo Marì: Hellas Verona are offering permanent deal, Monza pushing for loan with obligation to buy in case they will stay in Serie A next season. ⚪️🔴 #AFC
Decision expected soon but Pablo Marì will 100% leave Arsenal.

Pablo spent the second half of last season on loan at Udinese scoring twice in 15 appearances. They flirted with signing him permanently but baulked at the player’s wages. AC Milan were also rumoured to be interested.
A cursory glance at Pablo’s CV makes for tiring reading. He’s been on the books of nine clubs in four countries in the last decade and must be desperate to settle somewhere at this point. Let’s see what happens next.
There are 10,000 clubs enquiring about Mari and Torreira, and they are both still here.
Soon brother soon we will be reliefed!
Nankatsu SC made an enquiry, for both.
Torreira signed his Galatasaray contract last night. Just waiting for it to be officially confirmed.
£7m fee but factor in the £5m worth of saved wages.
As for Mari, maybe the Verona offer will prompt Monza to upgrade their bid.
You mean we got paid? With actual money?
Hahaha
The fee is to Gala to take him off our hands.
They can use my BA companion voucher and miles if they want
And I’m happy to book him an Uber to the airport.
Can someone help him with his luggage,
If we all band together I think we can help make this transfer happen….
They are Arsenal players right now. Show some respect please, especially for Mari, who besides one dodgy performance vs Citeh has always given his all for us.
I know Edu is smart enough to know that a bird in hand is worth more than a million inn our the bush.
Torreira’s case is still fresh in our mind. I hate to deal with Italian league
Save my head the stress of trying to figure it out.
When did edu became a bird hunter 🤔?
Well Edu is certainly not the bird catcher, we already have that role well filled in the squad
Fair Verona, let’s hope it doesn’t end in tragedy.
A very gentlemanly post.
Would a defender by any other name sell so sweet!?!
One of you, please. FFS. Sign him.
I wish him well. He has forged a decent career with limited talent by making some unusual moves (what young(ish) European player goes to Brazil!) and trying to give his managers what they want. I hope he goes to a team where he can play, that stays up, and where he gets paid decently when his Arsenal contract ends.
The manager of Udinese liked Pablo Mari and is now the manager of Verona, so it seems he wants the player to join up with him there. It would be a better situation for the player and Arsenal as it would be a straight sale and would let Pablo settle and have some security. I hope it works out.
I’m quite surprised Versace hasn’t come in for him still.
Do we get an “inquiry” fee from these clubs?
I really hope he gets a permanent move this summer. Clearly he did well in Serie A given the demand for him. He’s much better suited to that league than the searing pace of the Premier League. He’s not a bad player. I think the idea was probably that he would be like Mertesacker but Mertesacker made up for his total lack of pace with impeccable timing and physical dominance. Mari just doesn’t have those qualities to the same extent.
Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.
Guy couldn’t concentrate for the total of 90 minutes on pitch, i work 8 hours a day at least i can say i concentrate for 4 of them 😄
Well Pablo works 90 minutes a week and concentrates for 45 of them and gets paid better than both of us. With that in mind I say he’s doing alright.
Sigh. There seems to be a hell of a lot of posturing (and not for the first time either) over these kinds of deals. It’s clear Mari is not in Arteta’s plans (or Torreira for that matter) and they are currently taking up room in the squad, sure they both might not be registered with he league at the time of the deadline, but when you consider their wages also, it becomes a hindrance. I feel we are waiting to move on Mari, Torreira and to an extent Bellerin, before we make a move for another midfielder and possibly a… Read more »
