Looking forward to seeing the new guys in action. COYG
It’s a decent side. COYG!!!
Should be enough. Zurich are hardly world-beaters, are they.
Zurich are second from bottom in the Swiss Super League. They have just two points from seven games.
If the team selected can’t beat them pretty well over 90 minutes, they really need to take a long, hard, look at themselves.
Quite a lot of our starting 11 towards the end of last season (or similar players).
Love the bench. Anyone else seen Cozier-Duberry play? He’s a player!
Love the bench. Anyone else seen Cozier-Duberry play? He’s a player!
Of course, he has to be a player to play.
If he’s a cozier version of his uncle Michael then I can get onboard.
I’m looking forward to Cijan more tbh but I’m not sure it’ll happen tonight unless we’re out of sight early
Arteta is a bit too cautious for me about playing the youngsters. Smith has nearly 100 appearances in league one, surely he could hold his own out here surrounded by mostly first team players. If we get up 3-0 he’ll probably bring on white and zinchenko to shore us up!
Baby steps guys! Sort this one out first please. While I hate all the negativity around media n stuff like that, it’s us who gave them the fuel to fire. We are on to something special and you all deserve it more than anyone else. Up the gooners.
Ah shit Martinelli!
Fuck me that would have been Smith-Rowe.
Please let my boy be okay lol.
Not sure Martinelli needed to start this one but I’d be surprised if he plays the full match.
Cozier-Duberry is a left-winger so will possibly replace Martinelli in the second half.
We obviously can’t rest every first team player….. Were ESR fit, he’d definitely have started this one
Definitely only give him a half of play, no need to push him for more than that with the minutes he’s already played and will be playing throughout the Fall.
i’m guessing Reiss-Nelson not fit as not even a sub?
He’s been injured all season mate
He’s still injured.
A Europa League group stage game without Mohamed Elneny makes me sad.
Hallelujah! Bukayo Saka rested. Although, I think Gabriel and Martinelli should get some rests, too. But I am not complaining at all. Let’s get the dub and 3 points!
They would have got rests if Cedric and Smith-Rowe didn’t get injured.
Likely reasoning for Martinelli then is that Marquinhos one on wing and Cozier-Duberry on the other wing is too inexperienced.
If we go three up, Martinelli will come off and I don’t think Xhaka needs to be playing 90 minutes here either.
Not to disrespect Zurich but in 7 league games they have drawn 2 and lost 5.
Drawn 2 and lost 5? Hmmm, sounds like the perfect recipe to play the Old Arsenal.
This is the new Arsenal!😁
Good luck to number 27 Oliveira Alencar on his debut!
Imagine if that our bench for regular PL games was of that quality.
Good to see Cirjan get a spot.
Starting XI should be plenty strong to get a result.
COYG and let’s get another winning streak started.
Studio team on the pregame show made the point that in this unbalanced World Cup season, with Europa league Group stage matches coming so thick and fast, Turner is likely to get a match every week almost like he’s the Arsenal’s no. 1. If he performs well then he has a good chance of being the USA number one at the World Cup. This window of games alone would have been worth his move to the Arsenal from MLS this summer. I wonder if this route was indeed the primary motivation and selling point, even over and above his fandom?
I’m going to be closely watching Sambi’s positioning out of possession. This is an opportunity for him to ingrain lessons from the loss to Yanited.
The team should be enough to defeat Zurich – the weakest team in the group. If all goes well (famous last words) it should give Arteta a chance to use a selection of the subs as well to see what they can do.
