Arsenal forward Beth Mead has been voted as the England Lionesses Player of the Year, joining Bukayo Saka who won the men’s award.
Mead continues to hoover up the awards and the plaudits having enjoyed an outstanding 2021-22 season, winning the Arsenal.com and Arsenal Women’s Supporters Club Player of the Season.
Beth also won the Golden Boot and the Player of the Tournament as England made history, winning the European Championships on home soil this summer. Mead scored six goals and made five assists in the tournament.
She has scored 13 goals for her country in 2022, taking in two hat-tricks in the process. She finished as runner-up to Alexia Putellas for UEFA’s Player of the Year and has been nominated for the Ballon D’Or and the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year. Mead already has three WSL goals in the opening two games of this season.
Many congratulations to Beth.

Brilliant, very well deserved. Really looking forward to my first Arsenal Women’s match this month
Well done Meado!!
Saka an now Mead. Very proud of our players.
Already a big fan of mead, our very own one is quite spectacular! What a club!
MEADOOOOO
Well deserved I can only see Beth going from strength to strength. Also congrats to Leah on coming second. Backs are too often ignored and Leah made a sterling contribution to England’s success.
Watching a few Arsenal women’s matches last season, if Beth Mead had a weakness, it was not realising how good she is. In that opening match against Chelsea, she got the first of her goals because she had no options, there was no-one with her to pass to, so she went for it, and it was an amazing goal with her wrong foot. Hopefully all the (totally deserved) accolades she’s getting now, will remove any self doubt she had, and she’ll get even better!
Congratulations, our Beth! How nice that Arsenal Players won the men’s and women’s awards.
