Newcastle United have confirmed that their match with Arsenal at the Emirates will kick off 15 minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
Back in October, Sky Sports selected the match for broadcast in the UK and moved it to Tuesday 3rd January with an 8pm start.
For an unknown reason, they’ve since lobbied the Premier League for a 7.45pm kick-off and had their request accepted. What power they wield.
Is this the drabbest story we’ve ever written? Quite possibly.
More blatant evidence of Sky Sports not giving a shit about Arsenal fans squeezing in an extra pint before kick off.
Though giving more time for us to celebrate afterwards…
Might be for the extra 15min added…
They will ask us to play in the Saudi Arabia home kit next.
Newcastle Utd – the new kid on the block? As we’ve seen, they’re beginning to make their presence felt on the pitch in the PL. And now off of it as well? Perhaps it will be 30 minutes next time and then the world (or the full hour anyway).
That’s 15 minutes extra to watch Ant and Dec throwing up after we smash their team to pieces.
I miss Arsenal so much right now that I’m willing to take much drabbier news items than this one!
Stranger things have happened.
Train times I guess. In which case fair enough. Although, when did the FA ever care about travelling fans? Probably their board is meeting to increase UK fuel prices in order to finance their transfer policy, and it clashed with the original time?
Trains are on strike as per mate. Costs a fortune to support Arsenal from outside London nowadays finding alternate transport and hotels.
This 15 minutes move means that the match will now be in primetime for SSS1 – Sky Sports Saudi Arabia…
