According to The Athletic, Watford will hop over the fence at London Colney for a behind-closed-doors kickabout with what’s left of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad.
While the Gunners have 10 players away at the World Cup, the rest are due to return to training at London Colney tomorrow having had some time to rest and recuperate since the win over Wolves two weeks ago.
It’s unclear what day the Hornets, who are currently training in Spain, will visit but it’s likely to be in the middle of the week. The Gunners are then due to fly to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp incorporating matches with Lyon and AC Milan on the 8th and 13th December respectively.
Arsenal will then host Juventus at the Emirates on the 17th December and could squeeze in another match at the training ground before resuming the Premier League campaign against West Ham on Boxing Day.
Back this. Get the lads not only out and about physically, but playing footy in weird combos to get the “B team” automations greased, too.
Yeah man. I wanna see that Cedric / Nelson automation greased af.
Lokonga and Elneny pinging those balls to Nketiah from the middle of the park. Make that B team our A team. Let those that went to the World Cup regret it.
Behind closed doors! No!! I’m getting Arsenal withdrawal bad. I would happily watch Cedric, Nelson, Hein and some kids I’ve never heard of play against Melchester Rovers 2nd eleven, as long as they were wearing the Red and White.
… with Billy the Fish in goal!
Another one Wenger could have landed, but swam to greatness elsewhere.
As long as someone has sent a memo to the Watford players with ‘IT’S ONLY A FRIENDLY, YOU DUMB FUCKS’ on it, then I’m cool with this happening.
First ever team that I saw live, Watford, at the age of about 4. No ticket, my grandfather lifted me over the turnstiles to get in. Pat Rice was playing.
