William Saliba has, this evening, been named in the France squad for the World Cup which takes place later this month.
The 21 year old has had a hugely impressive season for the Gunners, and was named Man of the Match for the 1-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday.
So far this campaign, he has made 15 appearances in all competitions – 13 in the Premier League, 2 in the Europa League, and he’s set to play this evening against Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
Congrats to Big Bill.

Well deserved.
Top top lad. Look forward to him being with us for many years.
He earned it. He’s arguably one of the top cbs in the game right now. I hope he enjoys every minute of the experience it and comes back stronger. Almost feels like another loan.
Giroud,guendozi and saliba…gunners influence…
This tournament gives Giroud the opportunity to become France’s all time top goal scorer, a position currently held by Thierry Henry.
That scumbag chelski Cun+b@g ain’t & never will be fit to lace Thierry Henry’s bootlaces with his teeth !! Support Arsenal & the legends of the club. Here’s another one……Mustafi who I have no real disdain for has won more WC medals than Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, etc
We should have kept him
Olly was never the quickest, but used skill, strength and brain to compensate. That type of player can often continue well into their 30s. He has certainly outlasted Laca. I agree we should have kept him.
Where is Mike Maignan?
Injured till January
Of course, please look after him.
A no brainer really. He will come back even better with the WC experience added to his stock.
Hardly a surprise given his form, but very welcome nevertheless.
It’s crazy that even two years ago everybody had France as overwhelming favourites for the trophy, but that squad looks (relatively) poor to me. They´re short on quality at RB and GK, and their formation needs a midfield three but I can’t see a single top CM on that list. Big drop from peak Pogba / Kanté.
Think their defense is solid (Parvard does a decent job at RB). But that midfield line up is underwhelming. Although, won’t be surprised if Youssef Fofana announces himself to the world at this tournament.
Surprise revelation: Matteo Guendouzi. You heard it here first.
Who?
Just thinking the same, midfield looks light
Strange seeing a French team with so few Arsenal players.
