Accrington Stanley have secured Nathan Butler-Oyedeji on loan for the second half of the season.
The striker has been a regular starter for Mehmet Ali’s under-21s this season scoring two goals in 14 appearances in Premier League 2. He’s also proved himself against senior opposition with a further four goals in four appearances in the EFL Trophy.
Earlier this month, Mikel Arteta rewarded the youngster’s promising performances with a place on the bench for the FA Cup win over Oxford United. He had previously enjoyed minutes off the bench when the Gunners beat AC Milan and Lyon during the World Cup break.
Butler-Oyedeji becomes the sixth academy prospect to head out on loan in January after Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Miguel Azeez, Ovie Ejeheri, Tom Smith and Omar Rekik.
Accrington Stanley are hovering just above the relegation zone in League One and could do with some goals having netted just 24 in 25 games.
Best of luck at Crown Ground, Nathan.
All I can say about Accrington Stanley is that when I was watching their recent FA Cup match on TV, the closed captioning kept writing their name as African Stanley.
Dr. Livingstone, I presume?
Accrington Stanley? Who are they?
They’re in English league 1. 21st in it currently so they do need some help.
Exactly!
