Noelle Maritz starts for Arsenal at right-back against Manchester City Women in today’s lunchtime WSL clash. It is not entirely clear from the line-up whether the Gunners are sticking with the back three they used against City in the Conti Cup on Saturday.
Manu Zinsberger is reinstated in goal with Maritz at right-back, Wubben-Moy and Rafaelle at centre-half. Whether Leah Williamson joins them in a three strong central defence or whether she plays in midfield remains to be seen.
Steph Catley will play on the left of the back line, Kim Little and Frida Maanum in midfield. In the forward line, Victoria Pelova and Caitlin Foord will play either side of Stina Blackstenius.

It’s such a shame this fine Arsenal side will end the season trophyless for another year all because of Jonas Eidevall who’s tactics and decisions are too poor for a big club like Arsenal. Forgot to mention that our hopes of playing in the champion’s league next season is now turning into a mirage.
Eidevall is doing great, i must commend him for successfully bringing down our beloved Arsenal, while the board just sits there and enjoy what they’re seeing.
Don’t know that I think Eidevall has done a great job.
However, missing Medeima and Mead is pretty significant. Look what happened to Lyon earlier in the season. They had key players out, and we crushed them.

A very miserable performance from the team🤦♂️. For crying out loud, why couldn’t JE switch things around when the ladies were repeatedly giving the ball away in the 1st half (yeah, it continued all game!)?? The same poor pattern of play displayed during the Conti Cup game repeated itself😑. Why stick to a back three when the defence keeps struggling to adapt?? We weren’t up for it at all! It’s not all on Jonas. The team are not blameless! Those eleven players are more than capable of beating City, however they barely turned up in the first half and the damage was done!

Again is Eidevall going to use missing Mediema and Mead for this disastrous form this season. It’s been terrible to watch the team struggle against teams even with refs helping out by not giving clear pks against us. We can’t score. Jesus the players can’t create chances or take them. 5 points behind and still Chelsea and City and United to play again and we have Chelsea the second to last game of the season when Chelsea could already be crowned Champions of the WSL yet again!! At this rate with how poor Blackstenius and Hurtig are Miedema can ask for any number for her next salary and the club had better pay it. No more jokingly letting her play as a 10 she needs to be in the box for Arsenal scoring and creating chances for others. This is what Arsenal without Miedema looks like and it’s not a future any Arsenal fan wants to see!
And get Eidevall out of our club.
