Aaron Ramsdale spoke to Sky Sports after the 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield this afternoon.
Here’s what he had to say.
A point saved or two points dropped?
Ooooh, a bit of both. We managed to dig in at the end. We had some good chances when we came to Anfield, but we had to survive as well. So, I think right now it’ll be mixed emotions, but over the next few days it’ll definitely be a very good point.
You led for over an hour …
Maybe, but I’ve just walked off the pitch and we’ve been under pressure for 35 minutes or whatever it was, and we’ve managed to get a point at Anfield. They’re a top side, the crowd get right behind them. It might be two points dropped but we could have dropped all of them.
You made big saves …
That’s what I’m there to do, I enjoyed playing today, and there’s no better games to be playing in than these – ones which mean so much for both teams. Unfortunately we couldn’t get all three points but at least my saves have helped.
Arsenal’s mentality …
I thought we were excellent. We didn’t show anything about previous games against them. For 50 minutes we were very good, but in the end got unlocked by two goals.
Will only time tell how valuable this point is?
Absolutely. Now we’ve gotta go back in and work hard every day and go again. One point is a lot better than none, it’s another point on the board, and we go from there.
Got to see the positivity in the point?
Yes. That’s what the manager will be saying. He’s hugely positive, and we’ll digest it over the next few days and we’ll definitely be showing all the good stuff we did in the first half to go 2-0 up.

He’s stepped it up a level since the beginning of the season. Those saves against Bournemouth and the ones today could prove vital come the end of the season
It’s a good point for sure. We’ve always needed something out of the £ity trip. Nothing has changed. Win or draw there and we’re getting real close.
Very heartening to see him coming into this sort of form just before the Etihad. If he can be the brick wall there, we’ll nick one against their dodgy defence and job’s a good ‘un.

World class performance. Came clutch right at the end. To be fair, it did look like atmosphere got into some of our players by the end. And that’s fair, Anfield is a tough place. But not Ramsdale. What a performance.
That was pure stress from start to finish I guess that is what happens when your in such a close title race, I’d forgotten what this felt like. COYG
If Arsenal win the PL by one point this season, Ramsdale’s saves in this game will be the stuff of legend!
And if we lose by a point, VAR will be the cause…

Ramsdale just won us the league because everything will play out this way.
We will draw against City and Newcastle. Then this point will become crucial as we will win the league on the last day with just one point. COYG!

Could have been worse but I’m still disappointed by today’s result. We had them during the first 20-25 minutes.

Don’t know what to think about this game. We had them and then they had us. Don’t know why really. Not unhappy with a point at Anfield but man, it would have been amazing to bring the game home.
On a side note: Good old Paul was horrendous today. And I don’t think we were robbed, he was just a very, very bad referee today. No line, no consistency, nothing. Just bad! Not an easy game to handle by any means, but refs who are in the PL should be able to handle it better.

I thought Saka could’ve gone down for a pen before he wriggled and passed to Trossard. It was both brave and naive to stay up and not look for a penalty as Konate definitely made contact with him. As the clock turned to 86th minute, I was hoping the football gods give us mercy for Saka’s fair play. Alas it’s 2 points dropped and one point gained. We move.
He was never getting that call from Tierney. Never.

I would sub Zinny too, he was the only one who could confidently hold the ball, kill time and find a good pass Partey too was amazing. I think Xhaka would have been substituted for Tierney to help our LB and Øde for a more defensive minded player. How we missed Tomi and Saliba.
