According to Belgian publication HLN, Leandro Trossard underwent a minor operation after Arsenal’s Premier League campaign was brought to a close on 28 May.
Details of the procedure are thin on the ground but they are cited as the reason for the striker’s absence from Belgium’s squad for their upcoming EURO 2024 qualifiers with Austria and Estonia.
Trossard picked up a minor groin injury in the 3-2 win over Bournemouth in March and sat out the first leg of the Gunners’ Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon.
While he made a swift return, manager Mikel Arteta continued to hint right up to the end of the season that his January signing was struggling with an issue.
In the absence of Gabriel Martinelli, Trossard ended up playing 80 minutes against Wolves and claimed two assists.
In total, he played 39 games for Brighton and Arsenal, scoring eight goals and making 13 assists. Fingers crossed he recovers quickly and is able to hit the ground running again when pre-season resumes in July.
They’re returning his hair to the original color, nothing to worry about
I heard he was finally getting that Fulham left back surgically removed from his back pocket.
Even modern medicine can only do so much
Sorry. But this reminded me of the Martinelli header in that game.
No offence to Gabi. But imagine being a proffessional defender and being muscled out of even competing for a header by Martinelli.
I remember at the time thinking surely something weird happened.
It didn’t.
That guy was just really shit.
Aaah those halcyon moments of Fulham Away, when it really really really looked like we were going to win the title.
(Let’s not go there about what happened next. Let sleeping Fats lie….)
Very good 😂
I assumed he must have been frightened by something
Stepped on a lego and turned his hair white
Let’s hope he makes a speedy recovery.
We have a massive campaign next season and we’re going to need him.
It’s going to be all hands on deck, so get better soon Leandro.
Don’t worry, he’s well Tross-hard.
Yeah? Well there’s a writers strike on so shuuuutup.
👍 😂
SO glad he joined us!
I always rated him at Brighton and he’s certainly hit the ground running for us.
Hope you’re fit for the start of the season, Tross!
I watched this guys years back in a europa league game for Genk. Could already tell he was a special talent.
