And then he blows a defensive assignment, Eriksen slides in Rashford and people scream that this was not the time to give ESR his debut in an unfamiliar role (usually played LW for us). Kai plays because at the very least he understands how to press and does so relentlessly. That’s ESR’s achilles heel and the reason he doesn’t play.
There’s a time and a place to give ESR’s first start (first minutes?) of the season, which I agree he fully deserves, and it’s not vs ManU. Whatever you say about Havertz he’s played in a lot of big games and will not be phased by the occasion

How is Ramsdale still starting? He have 2 clean sheets in the last 13 league home games. Ι guess it’s everyone else’s fault we allow few chances but we can’t keep a clean sheet. Just continuous bad luck.
Show me a shot he should’ve kept out so far this season. Maybe the Pereira chance? He’s out of his goal because we have the ball and we are building play, then he gets wrongfooted by the finish. But if he turns the other way Pereira goes far post. Also clean sheet vs. Palace with 10 men.
I have a sneaky suspicion that we will see exactly what Arteta sees in Havertz today. I’ve been worried that our formation has really been hampering him thus far, but with the defensive stability behind him now he’ll be able to do what really makes him great, and that’s get forward from midfield. He’s gonna make Casemiro look decidedly average, hopefully.

He’s playing in Xhaka’s role and actually had a couple of key defensive plays so far that might have kept Utd from getting the lead. Key interception on their break and another key blocked shot just now.
Oh please he’s played mostly as a 10 for Leverkusen and as a 9 for Chelsea he’s a liability on defence and most likely always will be, and so far offensively he’s been our worst player by far. If we have Granit or any semi decent midfielder instead of him we are up 2-0 going into HT.
He should play as a backup striker when we need his height and aerial ability Cus so far apart from that he offers absolutely nothing worth the price tag.
Does not deserve to be starting week in week out.
