Jonas Eidevall is starting Alessia Russo and Stina Blackstenius upfront together in what looks like it will be a 352 formation away at Manchester United. Sabrina D’Angelo starts in goal ahead of Manu Zinsberger.
From there, it looks as though Ilestedt, Beattie and Codina will play in a back three with Catley and Maritz as wing backs. Victoria Pelova joins Kim Little and Lia Walti in midfield with Blackstenius and Russo paired upfront.

Interesting line-up! Something needed to change from the Liverpool game, I’m all for big changes.
I’m very happy with that starting 11 and formation. A start for Codina which is very exciting, providing a bit of pace at the back to complement the more senior players. Beattie heading balls. Foord getting a rest and Lacasse in the back pocket to provide a different threat if needed. Pelova feeding Stina and Russo, knitting our attacking play, Little running into the box now and again and shooting. Walti being the tidiness monitor as always. Jonas does the right thing in not criticising his players in public. However, these changes make me wonder just what he said in private. I’m generally pleased with this lineup, espcially given the strong bench.
Agreed.
But I also think that if the *whole team* (more or less) performs poorly, the head coach needs to look at himself as well. Changing the starting personnel can be seen as the coach correcting his tactical and selection mistakes as much as criticising the performance of his players against Liverpool.
I haven’t been able to watch yet but very happy to see Pelova in the starting lineup and in MF. She’s one of the best creative talents in the squad and would have been great to have in the lineup against Liverpool and any team that sits in. Was becoming concerned Jonas was emphasizing physicality over technical quality and creativity – one of the reasons we have struggled against deep blocks (the other being overall improvement in quality of all teams) vs. in the past.
