Pepe was forced to the bench by a truly terrible Willan just because he didn’t play the Mikel way.
Admittedly Raya is better than Willan (who the hell isn’t) but Ramsdale probably still shares the same feeling of what the fuck did i do wrong ?
Sometimes you have to trust the boss when he demand the Mikel way. Look what he did to Tomi and White. From traditional wing back to dynamic play and confuses the opponent.
I remember how Tavares was taken out half time on basis of his poor showing. Then I look at how Rambo is being treated….

Looks like Partey is either sick or injured still (he certainly didn’t look to be playing too hard in his two matches with Ghana in the US), not sure why we allowed him to go away for international duty for friendlies in the US (games that meant nothing). We should have sold him and bought someone that can actually be available to play.
Yea pretty obvious Raya is the new number 1 and all that crap about substituting a GK at the 60th minute was all just smoke and mirrors to take the pressure off of MA replacing a crowd favorite
Generally, I think fans can see a dodgy decision a mile off. Raya has been fortunate not to have been punished for multiple errors now, in a small sample of games. What is he contributing that Rambo wasn’t? Are we better with him? More or less unforced errors? The worry for me is, this is a classic “hill to die on” moment for Arteta. He ain’t changing his mind in this.
Raya is marginally better. He doesn’t kick the ball long endlessly, handing back possession from he 65th minute. His passes go, just a bit more often, where he intends them to.
People forget how bad Ramsdale’s kicking was.
I don’t really understand why Ramsdale isn’t playing. If Arteta is serious about have 2 good goalkeepers then he needs to give him some games. Furthermore I really don’t think Raya is that much better than ramsdale. At least not enough to warrant that Raya starts every single game now
At any football club the rule should be that you pick the player in form. Raya needs to be dropped now for Ramsdale.
If Raya has another stincker tonight then Arteta must take the blame.
I expect they’re doing a lot of work in training on the new way of passing out, he’ll not let individual setbacks knock him off a larger project.
However I miss ramsdale and all the previous words about 2 goalies makes the sidelining wrong

But the rotation of keepers / I can sub one in the 70th minute, has been a lie from the start. Pathetic.
Arteta thinks Raya is better. Not saying he’s right, but it seems pretty simple.
Benching Raya is non negotiable. Clearly.
Or he thinks the team will be better in the long run with Raya and so continues to blood him. Which makes it the harsher on ramsdale in the here and now because what can he do?
But things will change. At some point it’ll be on merit again, if ramsdake tough it out I hope he’ll get his chance
He knows by now that he got this wrong, but being the proud man he is, he doesn’t want to change the keeper because of the public outcry. When everyone has given up and its quiet, he will. But deep down he knows Raya is a bag of nerves at the moment.
TP must be injured then? Strong team all the same. We should get the 3 points assuming no repeat of the 1st 75 minutes of the Chelsea game. Speaking of which I hope Arteta is committed to tweaking the tactic earlier than later if Seville decides to reapply the Chelsea template.
Not stoked to see the same 11 bar Tomi that didn’t turn up against Chelsea for 70 minutes. Jorgi, Rice midfield doesn’t convince me but I understand that he wants to provide some security as we’re away.
Thigh injury reported for Partey! Sadly, I think the Partey is over for him in an Arsenal shirt unless you are a doubting Thomas. Should have been sold in the summer.

What a disappointing team selection! Do we really think jorginho can play 2 games in 4 days when he’s gassed at 25 minutes? Partey can’t be considered reliable anymore, and its probably time we call up those teams who were supposedly interested this summer.
We’re going to run rice into the ground if we ask him to play two positions every three days for 10 months.
I agree on Jorginho. Has been very pedestrian the first half. Would rather have seen Rice at the def mid spot and Trossard, Viera, ESR or even Havertz come into the attacking left mid role.

F*ck sake! just admit this ‘ I can sub a keeper in the 70th minute’ is bollox. It’s actually distrustful to the fans (I’m hoping not to Ramsdale as I hope he’s been decent enough to tell him that Raya is No1).
Love Arteta and reconnection he’s made with club and Gooners but his handling of Ramsdale is a disgrace. Thumb me down as much as you like and let’s see you do that again when he leaves for Chelsea or someone just as bad.

The manager has to communicate with fans and also not give away info to the opposition. Its a delicate balancing act, so no Mike wasn’t lying to you directly about rotating goalies. Ramsdale lost his place because of tactics not because raya is a better keeper pe se. Accept the fan favourites is done at arsenal unless we go backwards re tactics. Ball playing keepers are the new nom as are defenders that can step into midfield as opposed to marauding down the touch line I.e Tirney another excellent fan favourite
Outrageous skill from G. Jesus. I feel we’re overly cautious. Jorginho could be more progressive. Saka isn’t making any runs inside when there’s so much space to exploit.
