Arsenal U18s look to have turned a corner recently in terms of results – they are unbeaten in their last five games across all competitions, winning four of them.
Their most recent victory, a 2-1 success away to Derby County, ensured that Jack Wilshere’s side progressed to the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup.
After taking the lead through captain Harrison Dudziak, Arsenal were left frustrated when Derby managed to pull level.
However, substitute Ismeal Kabia stepped up to score what proved to be the winner for Arsenal in the second minute of stoppage time.
The goal was an especially significant moment for Kabia as he was making his first appearance of the season following a lengthy injury lay-off.
Kabia also spent a significant part of last season on the sidelines and will now be determined to remain fit as he looks to work his way towards a professional contract.
The impact that Kabia made against Derby provided an indication of what he can offer, with the 17-year-old possessing much in the way of flair and directness.
Kabia will hope to feature in some capacity when Arsenal commence their FA Youth Cup campaign with a third round tie at home to Crewe Alexandra.
