Josh Robinson signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in the summer but the youngster’s season has yet to really get going.
Last campaign Robinson, who can play at right-back or centre-back and has also been used in midfield, was involved with the Arsenal U18 squad that reached the final of the FA Youth Cup.
No longer eligible for that age group, Robinson is now stepping up to the U21s, having already gained some experience playing for Mehmet Ali’s side.
However, an injury stopped the 18-year-old in his tracks and he has yet to play a game this season. There is some light at the end of the tunnel, though, as yesterday Robinson was back involved in training.
Robinson took part in a training session overseen by Mikel Arteta that was mostly comprised of youngsters but also included some first-team players such as Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson and captain Martin Odegaard.
Now Robinson will be looking to feature for the U21s in the near future, although he will be aware that there is fierce competition for places at that level. With his impressive reading of the game, the youngster could be a useful option for Ali to consider, especially if some players leave on loan in the January transfer window.
After missing the majority of the first half of the campaign, Robinson will now be eager to make up for lost time.

Any info about that 16-year old who scored 10 goals in a U16 game recently?
Apparently he is 15, sorry. According to a news website in Iceland he has been playing mostly for the U18s, has trained with the 1st team this season, and last weekend scored 10 goals for the U16s in a 14-3 victory over Liverpool U16s. His name is Chido Obi-Martin. Do you know anything about this boy, JeorgeBird?
He’s massive for his age, as in physically So let’s see how he develops.
